We understand that you're struggling with weight loss and the appearance of your face. We want to encourage you with this reminder: God looks at the heart, not merely at outward appearance. As it says in 1 Samuel 16:7 WEB, "But Yahweh said to Samuel, 'Don't look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I see not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.'"
While it's important to take care of our bodies, we should remember that our ultimate goal should be to glorify God in all that we do. This includes maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We recommend incorporating healthy eating habits and regular exercise into your routine, as well as seeking professional help if needed. It is important to rely on God's strength to accomplish this.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB reminds us, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
We also want to address the fact that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. In John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Therefore, we encourage you to come to God through Jesus directly and pray in His name. This is how we are able to be saved and approach God.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our dear friend who is struggling with weight loss and the appearance of their face. We pray that You will give them the strength and discipline to maintain a healthy lifestyle that honors You. Help them to lose weight in a healthy manner, and let it be a visible testimony of Your work in their life.
However, we also pray that they will not be consumed by outward appearances, but rather seek to cultivate a heart that pleases You. Help them to remember that their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and to glorify You in all that they do. We also pray that they would turn to Jesus Christ and ask Him to be Lord and Savior if they have not already so that they can pray to God through Jesus Christ.
We ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen.
