Disciple of Prayer
I posted earlier here for good weather and I want to update that Jesus did provide and the weather has cleared up! Much much better than the downpour that was predicted, thank you Jesus!

Now my prayer is that the wedding goes smoothly, Jesus I know nerves are normal and I am confident you placed this person in my life. I am just nervous and scared for this major change in my life. I will miss my family. I want everyone to be happy and have a good time I want to be confident in my decision as well.

Thank you Jesus amen

We rejoice with you and give thanks to Jesus together for answering your earlier prayer and clearing the weather. It is such a beautiful reminder that He hears us and cares about even the details of this important day, and we praise Him with you for His provision and mercy.

We understand the nerves and the weight you are feeling right now. A wedding is not just an event but the beginning of a holy covenant, and it is completely normal to feel both joyful and a little scared at such a major change. The Lord knows your heart and He tenderly understands that you will miss your family even as you step into this new season. Scripture tells us Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24. That leaving and cleaving is God designed, it does not erase the love for your family but it establishes a new lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that reflects Christ and His church. We are encouraged that you are confident God placed this person in your life and that you desire a marriage that honors Him, and we strongly affirm that godly marriage as a lifelong covenant.

Your desire for everyone to be happy is kind, but we encourage you to rest first in pleasing the Lord and in the peace He gives to you both. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. When anxiety rises, we are invited to bring it directly to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to His promise Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus for Your goodness in answering prayer for good weather and for Your hand over this wedding day. We ask that You calm every nervous heart and replace fear with Your perfect peace and confidence. Grant that this wedding would go smoothly according to Your will, that every detail would point to You, and that joy would fill the day. Help our dear sister to trust You fully with this transition, to lean not on her own understanding but to acknowledge You in all her ways Proverbs 3:5-6, and to walk into marriage with assurance that You have led her. Comfort her as she embraces both love for her family and love for her soon to be spouse, and knit this new marriage together in unity, purity, faithfulness and lifelong commitment. May this marriage from its very beginning honor You and be built on Christ as the foundation. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to take quiet moments before the ceremony to pray together and separately, to breathe and remember that this day is ultimately about a covenant before God more than a performance for others. Trust His leading, rest in His peace, and rejoice that He who has begun this good work will be faithful to carry it through.

We were so encouraged to read your update and we thank Jesus with you for the break in the weather. It is a gift to see Him answer that first prayer so clearly.

What you are feeling now makes a lot of sense. A wedding is joyful and it is also a huge transition, so feeling nervous, a little scared, and even sad to miss family does not mean you are not confident in your choice. It just means this matters deeply to you. Wanting everyone to be happy and to have a good time comes from a caring heart, but that is a heavy weight to carry by yourself on one day.

One thing that often helps in this last stretch is to pause from the details and reconnect on the bigger picture. If you can, take a few unhurried minutes with your fiance before the day, just the two of you, to share honestly what you are most looking forward to in marriage and one thing that feels tender or nerve-wracking right now. It can also help to let a trusted pastor or married couple who knows you both know how you are feeling, so you have steady support beyond the wedding itself.

Father, we lift this bride to You with gratitude for Your kindness in the weather and for the love You have given her and her future spouse. Calm her heart, give her deep peace and confidence in You, comfort her as she steps into this new season, and let the wedding day be filled with grace and joy. Draw them both close to You as they begin their marriage. In Jesus' name, amen.

Giving thanks with you for this mercy, that the Lord has heard prayer and has lifted the downpour and given you fair weather. It is good to mark such answers and to say, thank you Jesus, for He delights to show that He hears the cries of His people even in what may seem small things, and thereby to encourage us to trust Him in greater things.

Your present burden is one that many have felt, those nerves and fears before so great a change. You speak of missing your family, of longing that all may be happy and have a good time, and of wanting to be confident in your decision. These are not strange feelings. To leave one season of life and to enter another is solemn, and the heart is pressed with thronging duties and tender sorrows. The word of the Lord meets you there, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not found in perfect circumstances or in perfect weather or even in a perfect day, but in a stayed mind, a mind stayed upon Christ.

Do not seek after peace first. Seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. There is a peace which is merely peace with our own conscience, a lull which will not hold when trouble comes. But there is a peace which God the Father gives, which Jesus Christ bought with His blood, and which the Holy Spirit works in the soul. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. He Himself has said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. This is a present possession to be enjoyed even when sorrows are surging round, for on Jesus bosom nothing but calm is found. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

And because marriage is among the holiest of His ordinances, we must view it as He has appointed it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered before God, wherein love and life and dwelling together belong. It is a holy life work which mirrors Christ and His Church, and it is not to be entered lightly or upon mere feeling, but upon faith and obedience. Therefore let your confidence be not in your own heart alone, but in the Lord who has laid help upon One that is mighty, even His Son. He that believes on Him has everlasting life, and Christ Himself is the bread of that life to sustain you day by day. If your trust is in Him alone for salvation, you may then trust Him also to guide and keep you in this covenant, if it be according to His will and Word.

So I would counsel you to stay your mind upon Him now. Tell Him all your fears plainly. Ask Him to make your way clear and to establish your steps according to His Word. Pray not only for a smooth outward day, but for a quiet inward heart that rests in His wisdom and love. Commit your family to Him, from whom you in measure part, and your future household to Him, to whom you go. Seek grace to love His law, for great peace have they that love His law and nothing shall offend them.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, the God of all peace, we bless You for Your kindness already shown in answering prayer for fair weather. We ask You now to keep this dear soul in perfect peace, the mind stayed on You. Wash the conscience in the blood of Your Son that it may whisper peace within. Take away fear and give a well founded peace, peace in believing. Grant wisdom to discern Your will, and steadfastness to do it. If this marriage be entered as You have ordained, make it holy and steadfast, a lifelong covenant kept in faithfulness, and let it be nourished daily upon Christ the bread of life. Let the day be ordered by Your hand, let loved ones be comforted and knit together in love, and let this soul go forward not in self confidence but in confidence toward You. May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard heart and mind through Christ Jesus. And may you go in peace, for that shall be your strength, the joy of the Lord upholding you now and in all the days to come. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We rejoice with you that the Lord has heard your prayer and provided clear weather after the downpour that was expected. It is good to give thanks to Him for this kindness, and we thank Him with you.

Your nerves before such a great change are understandable. Marriage is a lifelong covenant as God has designed it, and to enter it with reverence is right. The Scripture encourages us to hold fast our confidence and the rejoicing of our hope firm to the end, and that confidence does not come from having everything perfectly arranged but from virtue and the fear of God. When we come to Him willing to trust Him, He meets us and gives us boldness and calms our shame and anxiety, as He did when He gently asked those who followed Him what they were seeking, to give them confidence to draw near.

It is also natural that you will miss your family as you leave one home to establish a new one. The Lord honors both the family that raised you and the new union He is forming. Pray that your marriage would reflect the beauty that does not fade, not only outward celebration but inward faithfulness, purity and patience, so that you may enter an undefiled nuptial chamber with joy before God.

We pray for you now, that the Lord Jesus Christ would grant you peace that steadies your heart, confidence rooted in Him and not in circumstances, and joy for all who gather. May He guide every detail of the day so that it goes smoothly for His glory, may He comfort you in the tender sorrow of parting from family while giving you hope for the new household you are building, and may He establish you both in love, patience and hope through His Word, that your marriage would be fruitful in good and bring honor to Him all your days.

We will continue to pray that you walk into this covenant with calm assurance in Christ and with thanksgiving.
