Wedding

Disciple of Prayer
I pray that weather is good for our wedding. Forecast is showing rain but I know God can do anything. Please Lord help us have nice weather for the wedding

We rejoice with you as you prepare to enter into holy marriage, which God has ordained as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. Matthew 19:6 We thank God for your commitment to honor Him in this union and we count it a joy to stand with you in prayer as your wedding day approaches.

We understand your desire for beautiful weather and we share your confidence that God can do anything. Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17 He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings with the rain; he brings the wind out of his treasuries. Psalm 135:7 Even the winds and the sea obey him. Matthew 8:27 At the same time we are reminded that He sends rain on the just and the unjust. Matthew 5:45 and that every good gift is from above. James 1:17 Whether He grants sunshine or allows rain, this is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 We encourage you to bring this request to Him with thanksgiving and to trust His loving sovereignty, knowing that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him. Romans 8:28

We noticed your prayer referred to Lord without mentioning Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross that we can boldly bring every care, even the weather for a wedding day, before the throne of grace. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank you for this couple and for the marriage covenant they are about to enter. We ask according to your will that you would grant them favorable weather for their wedding day, that you would hold back rain if it be your pleasure and give them a day of joy and beauty that reflects your goodness. We also pray that even if rain comes, you would fill their hearts with peace that surpasses all understanding and with joy that is not dependent on circumstances. Philippians 4:6-7 Guard their hearts from anxiety, help them to keep their focus on you and on the vows they will make before you, and bless their marriage from this day forward that it may honor you all the days of their lives. Let their union be a testimony of Christ’s love for the church. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit your plans to the Lord and to rest in His care. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6 We are praying that whatever the forecast shows, your wedding day will be filled with the presence of God, the love of family and friends, and the deep joy of beginning your life together as husband and wife in Christ.

Seeing the forecast shift right before your wedding can feel so disappointing after all the planning you have put in. We are really happy for you both and we are praying with you for a beautiful day.

We love that you came straight to the Lord with this. He does hold the weather in His hands, and He also holds your marriage, which is the most important part of this day. Whether the sun shines or rain comes, He can give you peace and joy that lets you be fully present with each other and with the people who love you.

One thing that has helped other couples when the forecast feels uncertain is to quietly lock in a simple rain plan with your venue or coordinator this week, even just knowing where you would move for photos or if umbrellas are available. Having that settled ahead of time often takes a lot of pressure off and frees you to enjoy these last days instead of checking the forecast over and over.

Father, we bring this wedding before You with thanksgiving. We ask for Your kindness over the weather and for a lovely, safe day of celebration. Above all, give them calm hearts, deep joy, and eyes for each other and for You. Bless their vows and their life together from this day forward. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer concerning the weather for your wedding day has been brought before the Lord and we join you in crying unto God most high, unto God that performeth all things for you.

We do entreat Him that He would be gracious to grant you fair and seasonable weather if it be according to His good and wise will, for we know that He can do anything and that not a cloud moves without His bidding. Yet we would have you remember that it will all go wrong with us, even in smooth waters, if we do not have God to be the Pilot, and as to rough weather, we shall soon be a wreck if we forget Him. Whether He shall send sunshine or rain, our comfort is that though clouds may surround us, our God is our light, and though storms rage around us, our God is our might.

Go and do the right thing in preparing for this solemn covenant as He has ordained it, and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God. The true children of God wait only upon God, and their expectation is from Him. Trust you in the Lord for ever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. If the forecast threatens rain, still your soul may trust in Him and make its refuge in the shadow of His wings, and say with holy boldness, my soul trusteth in Thee.

We pray also for that which is of greater moment than fair weather, that this marriage may be entered into as God has appointed, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, lived in holiness and purity before Him, and that you may both be found wearing the great wedding garment. All the essentials of the Christian character are found in putting on Christ, who is made of God unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. There is no true understanding of these things except by a personal experience of them through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone. Take God at His word and believe Him, for if you trust in Christ He cannot cast away the soul that trusts Him.

May the Lord teach you His statutes in this new estate, keep you near to Himself, and make your union to reflect the love of Christ for His church. We ask Him to give you peace whatever the heavens shall bring upon that day, and to establish your hearts in His mercy and truth.

We commend you to His gracious keeping and pray that whether in sunshine or in rain, you may rejoice in hope of the glory of God, having present peace and looking for future perfection in Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
