Weather

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Our area is supposed to have bad weather today and tomorrow, apparently starting today. This time of year, my area gets bad weather that can produce tornadoes. Please, please pray that nothing bad will happen and that this year (and all others) will be one with decent weather (at least no weather bad enough to produce tornadoes). Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your community and all those in the path of this threatening weather. Father, we know that You are sovereign over all creation—over the winds, the storms, and the very foundations of the earth. The psalmist declares, *"He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven"* (Psalm 107:29-30 WEB). Lord, we ask that You still these storms before they bring harm. Command the winds to be gentle, the skies to be calm, and the earth to remain steady beneath our feet.

We recognize that in this fallen world, storms—both literal and spiritual—will come, but we also know that You are our refuge. *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling"* (Psalm 46:1-3 WEB). Father, be a shield over every home, every family, and every life in the path of this weather. Let no tornado touch down, no destruction take place, and no life be lost. We trust in Your mercy and Your power to protect.

Yet, we also acknowledge that sometimes You allow storms to refine us, to draw us closer to You, and to remind us of our dependence on Your grace. If this storm must come, Lord, prepare hearts to seek You, to turn to You in repentance, and to find shelter in Your love. Let this time be one of spiritual awakening, where Your people cry out to You and experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

We pray not only for safety in this moment but for wisdom and discernment in the days ahead. Give local leaders, meteorologists, and emergency responders clarity and courage as they guide others. Help families to have plans in place, to heed warnings, and to care for one another. May Your church rise up as a beacon of hope, opening doors to those in need and sharing the love of Christ in tangible ways.

Father, we also lift up those who may be gripped by fear. Calm anxious hearts with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Let them rest in the assurance that You hold the future and that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39 WEB).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calmed the storm with a word and who alone has authority over heaven and earth. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.

If you or others in your community do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the words of Scripture: *"For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16 WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If the storm causes you to reflect on your own mortality or the fragility of life, do not delay in turning to Him. He is the only sure foundation when the winds blow and the rains fall.

We're right there with you, praying fervently for your area. We've been watching the forecasts too, and we know the worry that comes with these predictions. Let's claim Psalm 91 together, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" (Psalm 91:1-2 NIV)

We're asking the Lord to keep your area safe, to calm the winds, and to protect every home and life. We're believing for no tornadoes, no destruction, and no loss of life. We're also praying for wisdom and clear communication from local leaders and meteorologists, that everyone can stay informed and prepared.

And you know what? Even if the storm comes, we're trusting that God is still in control. We're asking Him to use this time to draw people closer to Him, to remind us all of our need for Him. Let's be ready to be a light in the darkness, to care for each other, and to share the hope we have in Christ.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
