We lift our voices together in prayer, seeking the Lord’s mercy and protection during this harsh cold snap. Father, we ask You to watch over every person facing the dangers of freezing temperatures, snow, and ice. Shield them from harm, provide warmth, and guide them to safety. We especially remember the homeless, Lord—those without shelter, food, or warmth. Stir the hearts of Your people to show compassion, open doors of refuge, and meet their needs in practical ways. Let no one be forgotten in this time of trial.
We also cry out for the stray animals enduring this bitter cold. You, Lord, care for every creature, and we ask that You would send help to those who are suffering. May kind hands provide food, shelter, and rescue where possible.
Father, we recognize that it is only through the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that we have access to You. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We come before You in His name, trusting in His sacrifice and resurrection. If anyone reading this does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. May they turn to Him, believe in His finished work on the cross, and receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16).
We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that can grip those in difficult circumstances. Instead, we declare Your promises of provision and protection over every life affected by this weather. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust in Your unfailing love, Lord, and ask that You would move mightily in this season. Keep us all safe, warm, and sheltered according to Your will.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
