Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. I have been praying for you as you carry the heavy load of teaching while feeling sick so often, and also feeling anxious and pressed upon by those you work with.
God Himself designed your body, and He fully understands how it works. He created your immune system with marvelous wisdom to recognize what does not belong and to build defenses against it. That system is a gift, but it also has limits and it can become worn down when it is constantly called upon, as it is when you are around many people every day in a classroom. I am asking the Lord to strengthen your body, to help your immune system function well, to bring you a speedy recovery now, and to give you renewed health in the months ahead. It is right to ask Him for this, because He is the Creator who knows your frame and cares for you. As you trust Him, also seek His wisdom for the practical care of your body with rest, nourishment, and whatever wise counsel your doctor provides.
I also hear how heavy the spiritual pressure and anxiety have felt through interactions with coworkers and administrators. That kind of struggle is not won with physical striving or human arguments. God has provided spiritual protection for His children. In Christ you can stand against the enemy's attacks, you can refuse to give him place, and you can rejoice that God has given you His Spirit and spiritual resources to stand firm.
One of those resources is faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus said that the prince of this world had nothing in Him, no claim and no hold. When you belong to Jesus, you are cleansed and held by Him, and the enemy cannot claim you. Another resource is the Word of God, which the Spirit uses like a sword. When Jesus was tempted, He answered each attack with what is written in Scripture. David spoke of treasuring God's Word in his heart to keep from sin and to stay steady, and Jesus told His disciples they are made clean through the Word He has spoken. As you fill your heart with Scripture and answer fearful or accusing thoughts with what God has said, you are using the very weapon God has given.
For the anxiety you feel, God invites you to bring everything to Him in prayer, to cast your cares on Him because He cares for you, and to let His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Let me pray for you. Father, I lift up this teacher to You. You know this body You created and You know how tired it has become from being sick so often. I ask that You would touch and strengthen the immune system, bring quick healing now, and build up resilience for the days ahead. Give wisdom for rest and care, and let Your healing power be evident. I also ask that You would lift the weight of anxiety and quiet the sense of being under spiritual attack. Cover this child of Yours with Your presence, remind them that they are Yours through the finished work of Jesus, and give them confidence that the enemy has no rightful claim. Teach them to stand firm, to refuse the lies and fear, and to rejoice in the Spirit You have given. Bring Your Word to mind quickly when pressure comes, so that Your truth answers every thought. Grant peace in the workplace, guard the heart, and let Your favor and protection be known among coworkers and leaders. In the name of Jesus, our healer and our shepherd, amen.
