We join with you in lifting this cry for unity and peace, for we know that our God is not a God of confusion but of order and harmony. The disunity you face is a tool of the enemy to disrupt the work of the Lord, but we stand firm on the promise that *"if God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31, WEB). The Lord Himself commands blessing and unity among His people, as it is written: *"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity! ... For there Yahweh gives the blessing, even life forever more"* (Psalm 133:1, 3, WEB). We must first examine our own hearts, for unity begins with humility and repentance. Are there areas where pride, unforgiveness, or selfishness have taken root? The Scriptures urge us: *"Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous, not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing"* (1 Peter 3:8-9, WEB).
Yet we also recognize that there are times when division is caused by those who deliberately sow discord. Proverbs 6:16-19 warns that the Lord hates *"one who sows discord among brothers."* If there are individuals actively working against unity, we pray that the Lord would either soften their hearts to repentance or remove their influence, for the protection of His people and the advancement of His kingdom. Let us not forget that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Thus, we put on the full armor of God, standing firm in prayer and faith.
We notice, however, that while your prayer is heartfelt, the name of Jesus Christ is not invoked. It is by His name—and His name alone—that we have access to the Father. Jesus declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). The Apostle Peter affirmed this truth when he proclaimed, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Without the authority of Jesus’ name, our prayers lack the power and mediation that He provides. We encourage you to always approach the throne of grace through faith in Christ, for He is our High Priest who intercedes for us (Hebrews 4:14-16).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this plea for unity, knowing that You desire Your people to dwell together in peace and harmony. Lord, we ask that You expose and uproot any sin in our own hearts that may contribute to division—pride, bitterness, selfishness, or unforgiveness. Cleanse us, O God, and create in us a pure heart, renewed by Your Spirit.
For those who are stirring up discord, we pray that You would either bring them to repentance or remove their influence from this situation. Protect Your people, Lord, from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Let Your light shine so brightly that darkness cannot stand. Fill every heart with Your love, which binds us together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:14).
We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation. We ask all this in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, beloved, and trust that the Lord is working even now. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Cling to Him, seek His face, and walk in obedience to His Word. He will bring peace and restoration in His perfect timing.
