We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of faith, lifting up this request for healing and obedience. First, we recognize the power and authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. It is only by His name that we can approach God and receive mercy and grace in our time of need. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Heavenly Father, we pray for healing from the flu, asking that You would touch this dear one with Your healing hand. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We trust in Your promise to restore health and strength. We also pray for leniency in the situation referenced, asking that You would grant mercy and favor where it is needed.
Lord, we earnestly seek obedience and abiding in You and Your Word. In John 15:4-5, Jesus tells us, "Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." We pray that both this individual and the other person mentioned would be rooted deeply in Christ, drawing life and nourishment from Him alone. May their lives bear the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—so that all may see Your glory reflected in them.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of disobedience or rebellion that may be hindering a full surrender to Your will. We ask that You would break every chain of sin and unbelief, replacing it with a heart that longs to follow You wholeheartedly. Help them to meditate on Your Word day and night, as Joshua 1:8 instructs, "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success."
We also lift up any areas of their lives that may not be aligned with Your Word. If there is any unconfessed sin, particularly in the area of relationships, we ask that You bring it to light and grant the grace to repent and turn away from it. Your Word is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We pray that they would honor You with their bodies and their relationships, seeking to glorify You in all things.
Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and resolve to walk in obedience. When trials come, remind them of Your faithfulness and the promises in Your Word. As it says in 1 Peter 5:10, "But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you."
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
