My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on last Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home

We join you in bringing this very practical and difficult need before the Lord, for we know how much cold and discomfort can wear on the body and the spirit when a basic necessity like hot water is taken away. We understand your frustration that the repairs were promised for last Tuesday and are still not finished, and we lift up your request that everything would be completed by tomorrow.

We are reminded that our heavenly Father cares about every detail of our lives, even the things that seem small or ordinary to others. He knows what you need before you ask. Jesus taught, Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? or, With what will we be clothed? For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33. And we cling to the promise, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19. We also take comfort in Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and help in this situation. Lord, You see the apartment building and the unfinished heating system and the workers who are repairing it. We ask that You would grant skill and diligence to those doing the work, that any missing parts or obstacles would be removed, and that the restoration of hot water would be completed quickly, even by tomorrow if it is Your will. Provide warmth and a way to be cleansed and refreshed, and protect the health of all the residents from the cold. If it is not possible for the work to be finished so soon, we ask for Your mighty solution, Lord. Give wisdom about whether to stay or to move, and if a move is needed, we ask that You would open the door to an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and peaceful, according to Your provision. Grant patience and peace in the waiting, for we know that In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7. Help our dear one to rest in Your care and to trust that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, amen.

We want to gently encourage you about something we noticed, that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know how precious it is that we have access to God only through Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly bring even our daily needs like hot water and housing to God and know that He hears us. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in Him for forgiveness and eternal life, and to come to the Father in His name each time you pray.

We encourage you to continue to cast every care on Him while also taking wise and practical steps as you are able, speaking graciously with the building management for a clear update, seeking a temporary way to warm water or to shower elsewhere if needed, and asking God for contentment and endurance while you wait. He is faithful to sustain you through this discomfort and to guide your next steps.

We were really sorry to read what you are dealing with at home. Living without hot water day after day is exhausting, and we understand why an ice cold shower feels impossible and why you are eager for this repair to finally be done. Waiting past the promised date only adds to the frustration.

We know how trying such a daily burden can be, when what was promised for last Tuesday remains unfinished and even the simple mercy of a warm shower is denied. It is right to ask the Lord for a mighty solution, and we pray with you that in His providence the workmen may be given skill and diligence to complete the repair of the heating system speedily, even by tomorrow if it be His gracious will.

We are reminded that blessed are all they that wait for Him. Our God is a waiting God, full of long patience toward His people, and He calls us to be a waiting people who wait only upon Him and not upon the arm of flesh. Sometimes His people have to wait for the fulfillment of His promises, for every promise will be kept, but not always today nor tomorrow. Waiting upon God is the way to renew our strength, for by it we receive mysterious strength through the incoming of His Spirit, and our hearts are kept in peace while we trust Him. May He teach you in this season the holy art of waiting, and may He strengthen and quiet your heart as you look to Him.

Let us pray together. O Father, You have promised to give Your people a new heart and to preserve them in Your ways even to the end. Look with fatherly pity upon this need. Grant, we beseech You, that hot water may be restored to this dwelling without further delay. Guide the hands of those who labor on the heating system, remove hindrances, and provide what is needed for the work to be finished. If it be not Your will to restore it there, and a move must be made, we ask that You in Your wisdom and mercy would open the way to an alternative home that is safe and suitable and within provision. Keep this dear one in peace, preserve Your writing upon the heart through this trial, and let Your presence be felt as a warmth greater than any earthly comfort. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who has cleansed us from all sin by His blood. Amen.

Your request for hot water has been heard and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord.

We understand how difficult it is to live without this basic provision, especially when a repair was promised and then delayed, and when even a simple shower becomes a trial because of the cold. It is right to bring even these daily needs to God, for He cares for all that concerns His children.

We pray that God would grant a swift and complete solution, that the work on the heating system would be finished without further delay, and that hot water would be restored to your apartment by tomorrow if it is His will. We ask Him to give skill and diligence to those doing the repairs, and to provide for you with patience and protection in the meantime. If it becomes necessary for you to move, we pray that He in His providence would open the way to a suitable home and supply all that you need for that provision.

In this waiting, take comfort from the Scriptures which teach us patience and hope. As we are reminded, we are saved by hope, and hope that is seen is not hope, so we wait with patience for what God has promised. To love God is to endure and not be troubled, trusting Him whether He answers at once or calls us to wait a little longer. Patience works endurance, and endurance hope, and both are nourished by the Scriptures that God has given to strengthen and comfort us. Even small afflictions can train our hearts to trust Him more fully, and to remember that the good things He has promised are great and lasting, and He refreshes our souls by His promises while we wait.

So let us pray together. Father in heaven, we thank You that You see this need and that nothing is hidden from You. We ask You to hasten the completion of these repairs and to restore hot water to this home. Grant peace in this time of discomfort, guard health, and keep this dear one from discouragement. If a move is needed, lead clearly and provide a safe and affordable place to live. Help us all to wait upon You with patience, to hold fast our hope to the end, and to trust Your goodness in every circumstance. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
