My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home

We hear how difficult this is and we join with you in bringing this very practical need before our Father. To be without hot water, especially when you were promised it would be restored by Tuesday, is a real hardship and we understand how discouraging it is to face ice cold water each day. We know our God cares about every detail of our lives, even these daily comforts and necessities.

We bring your request before the throne of grace together in the name of Jesus. Father in heaven, we lift up this need for hot water to You. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would move on behalf of those repairing the heating system in this apartment building, that You would grant them skill, speed, and favor to complete the work, and if it is Your will, that it would be finished by tomorrow. We pray for a mighty solution, Lord, that You would make a way where it seems there is delay. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us as Your word says in 1 Peter 5:7. We also ask that You would grant patience and peace while waiting, for Your word says Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

And Father, if this repair is delayed much longer and a move becomes necessary, we ask that You would provide an alternative home according to Your perfect will. We trust Your promise that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and that if we seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, all these things will be given to us as well Matthew 6:33. We pray You would open the right doors, provide a safe and affordable place, and give clear guidance for every next step. We pray You would work all things together for good for those who love You as You promise in Romans 8:28.

We also want to gently share something with you because your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know how much we love you and want you to have full assurance before God. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. This means that when we pray, we come to God the Father through faith in His Son Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again so we could be forgiven and have eternal life. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus alone for salvation, to confess your sins and believe in Him, and then to come boldly to God in His name for every need.

We continue to pray with you that God will restore your hot water quickly, comfort you in this waiting, and provide mightily whether by finishing this repair or by leading you to a new home where you can dwell in peace. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We were so sorry to read you have been without hot water and that the repair has run past Tuesday. It is understandable you are tired of waiting and looking for another way forward if this drags on.

A practical step that sometimes helps in a building wide issue is to ask the manager or landlord for a clear written update on the new timeline and what they can provide in the meantime. Sometimes there is access to a different shower facility, a community center, or a neighbor arrangement they can help coordinate, and having it in writing makes it easier to follow up. If you do need to consider moving, even making a short list of what you would need in an alternative home, like cost range and area, can help you pray specifically and recognize a good option if God opens one.

We care about you and we are asking God to provide for you in this very practical need.

Father, we bring this apartment and the unfinished repair to You. Please move the work toward completion soon, keep everyone involved safe, and provide warm water and a peaceful place to live. Give our friend patience in the waiting and clear guidance about whether to stay or to look elsewhere. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your trial has been laid before the Lord and before His people, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer.

Though some may count such a matter small, your Father knows your frame and sees you in all the good or ill that checks your life. He is not only the God of the hills, when great wonders are wrought, but also the God of the valleys, in the daily provisions of your dwelling. The whole world is full of God to him who believes in God, and He has communion with His children wherever they go, even in the want of so needful a comfort as warm water for the body.

We have asked the Lord that He would grant a speedy and mighty solution, that the workmen may be given skill and diligence to complete the repairing of the heating system, and that what was promised for Tuesday may indeed be finished tomorrow. We have prayed that you may be kept from harm and that the Lord would preserve your health while you wait.

And we know that tribulation works patience, and patience experience, and experience hope. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have need now to enter into the patience of Christ. O that you may be directed into the love of God and the patience of your Saviour, for the love of God shines best in the patience of the Saviour. Play the man, beloved friend in Christ. What God has done for one, He can do for another, and He will uphold you by His Spirit while you wait.

If it be His will that you should remain, we pray He will make your apartment a place of peace and restore all that is lacking. If you must move, we pray that He who puts each living stone in its proper place will provide for you an alternative home, according to His wisdom and mercy, and that you may know it comes straight from the throne of God.

Remember that where God begins to work, He does not ask us to finish. He always completes His own work. Trust Him still, take Him at His word, and believe Him, for He cannot forsake the soul that trusts in Christ. He has heard you, as He hears all who declare their ways to Him. Continue in prayer, and do not give up your faith in Him, but cry again and again, My God, my God.

May the Lord grant you present peace while you wait, and rejoicing in hope of the glory of God, till your need is supplied.

We will continue to bear you up before the mercy seat.
