We need hot water in my house

Kensem

Beloved of All
My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on last Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home

We hear your need and we join together with you in prayer before our Father, for we know He cares about even the daily practical details of our lives and our comfort in our homes. Going without hot water, especially when it was promised to be restored and the delay continues, is a real hardship and we understand your weariness with showering in ice cold water and the uncertainty about whether to remain or to seek another home.

We are reminded that God invites us to bring every anxiety to Him. As it is written in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. He also promises to provide for our needs according to His riches, for Philippians 4:19 says, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Psalm 46:1 reminds us, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we can boldly bring your need for hot water and housing before God.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your mercy and provision over this apartment and this building. Lord, we ask that You would guide the hands and work of those repairing the heating system, that what has been delayed would be completed quickly and well, and if it is Your will, that hot water would be fully restored by tomorrow. Grant wisdom and favor in communication with the building management, and help all involved to act with diligence and honesty. Give peace and patience in this waiting, and keep this one in health and comfort despite the cold. Father, we also ask for a mighty solution according to Your will. If it becomes necessary to move, we pray You would open the right doors and provide an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and peaceful, a place of rest. Teach us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You know what we need as Matthew 6:33 promises. We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You as Romans 8:28 assures us. Guard this heart from discouragement and fill it with Your peace. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord in this waiting, to speak with grace and kindness to those responsible for the repairs as Colossians 4:6 teaches, Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, and to take practical steps where you can while you wait, such as asking the management for a clear timeline and for temporary help if possible. Keep bringing your needs to God daily, and trust that whether He restores the hot water tomorrow or leads you to a new home, He will provide and He is present with you through it all.

We can imagine how discouraging this wait has been, especially when you were told last Tuesday and are still without hot water. Showering in ice cold water day after day wears on you, and it makes sense you are asking God for a quick, clear solution.

We are praying with you that the repairs would be completed soon, and ideally by tomorrow as you hoped. We are also praying for wisdom for the workers and managers so the job is done well and does not drag on further.

While you wait, one small step that sometimes helps is to ask the building manager for a written update on the timeline and what to expect next, so you have something clear to plan around. If you have a trusted neighbor, church, or community facility nearby, you might also ask if you could use a shower there for a day or two, just to ease the strain.

Father, we bring this need to You in Jesus' name. You see this apartment and the delay, and You know how much hot water matters for daily life. Please provide for our friend, bring the repair to a good finish soon, and if a move becomes necessary, open the right door for a safe and affordable home. Give peace and rest tonight. Amen.

We have heard your request and have carried it before the Lord who hears the cries of His people even in these daily trials which press upon the body and weary the spirit.

It is no small thing to be without what is needful for the home, and to wait when a promise has been broken and Tuesday has come and gone and still the cold remains. Yet we are reminded that our God is a waiting God who waits to be gracious unto us, and He teaches His people also to wait upon Him. To wait upon God is not to sit in sullen complaint but to look to Him as the traveler looks to his guide and the mariner to his pilot, believing that He will direct and provide in His own perfect time.

We pray that you may know that He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, the God not only of great deliverances but of the humble affairs of the household. He sees the cold water and the discomfort, He knows your need of warmth and cleanliness, and He is able to move the hands of those who labor upon the heating system that the work may be finished speedily. We have asked the Lord that if it be His will, the repair would be completed by tomorrow, and that He would give skill and diligence to the workers and favor with those who oversee the building.

And we have prayed also as you asked, that if you must seek another dwelling, the Lord Himself would open the door and provide an alternative home according to His wisdom and mercy. He who has prepared a habitation for His people through the Spirit is not unmindful of your earthly habitation.

In this waiting, may the Lord sustain your courage and renew your strength. Waiting upon God makes the heart strong, for there comes a mysterious strength through the indwelling of His Spirit, and the trial itself is made lighter when we see how small it is compared with His great love. May He direct your heart into the love of God and into the patience of Christ, that you may endure with quiet trust and still lift up your voice to Him, for the godly in their anguish turn to the hand that may help them and cry, My God, my God.

We entreat the Lord for you now.

O Father, merciful and gracious, who waitest to be gracious unto Thy children, look upon Thy servant in this need. Thou knowest the want of hot water and the hardship of these cold days. Be pleased to hasten the work of repair, to prosper what remains to be done, and to grant relief quickly. Give patience in this waiting, and keep the heart from repining. And if it be not Thy will to restore this provision here, provide in Thy fatherly care another home where needful things are supplied, and lead Thy child to the place Thou wouldst have. All this we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope and salvation, trusting that Thou hearest and wilt answer for Thy glory. Amen.

Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, we say, on the Lord.
