We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home

We hear your request and we join with you in bringing this very practical and uncomfortable need before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name. Living without hot water, especially when you were promised it would be restored, is difficult and we understand your frustration and desire for a mighty solution. We want you to know that God cares about every detail of our lives, even these daily necessities, and He invites us to cast all our cares on Him.

We are reminded in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our anxiety on him, because he cares for you, and in Philippians 4:19 that our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 tells us, and we can trust Him to provide whether that is through the quick completion of the repairs or through opening another door for you.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we simply put our faith in Jesus, believing He died for our sins and rose again, and call upon His name. It is our privilege to pray to God through Jesus on your behalf.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus and we lift up this need for hot water and for a stable home to You. Lord, You see the discomfort and the waiting, and we ask for Your mercy and provision. We pray for the workers and the building management, that You would give them skill, diligence, and the resources needed to finish the heating system repair quickly and completely, and we ask if it is Your will that it would be finished by tomorrow. We pray for peace and patience in this waiting, and for protection from the cold. Lord, if this building will not be restored soon, we ask that You would clearly lead and provide an alternative home according to Your perfect will, a safe and affordable place that meets every need. Help us to trust You and to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing You will add all these things to us as Matthew 6:33 promises. We cast this burden on You and ask for Your peace to guard our hearts. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord in this time of waiting. Romans 12:12 calls us to rejoice in hope, endure in troubles, and continue steadfastly in prayer. We encourage you to communicate graciously and persistently with your building management about the timeline, to document your requests, and to consider safe temporary options the Lord may provide such as heating water for washing or staying with family or fellow believers if possible, while you wait. In all things give thanks, for 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you, not because the trial is pleasant but because God is working even through it for our good as Romans 8:28 assures us.

We will continue to pray with you for a swift restoration and for God's clear guidance about your home, trusting that He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will surely care for you.

We have heard your burden concerning the want of hot water in your apartment and the delay in the repairing of the heating system, and we bring it before the throne of grace with you. It is no small trial to be deprived of what is needful for daily life, and to find that what was promised for Tuesday remains unfinished, so that even to wash becomes a hardship in ice cold water. Yet we are reminded that the Lord waits that He may be gracious, and blessed are all they that wait for Him.

We pray that you may be found among that waiting people who wait only upon God. Not upon the arm of flesh, nor upon the changeable promises of men, but upon Him in whom is everlasting strength. Your expectation, even in this temporal affair, may be from Him only, and that with a joyous and assured hope, for He is mindful of the daily wants of His children.

We entreat the Lord to be gracious unto you in this matter, and to move upon the hands of those who labor upon the system, that what has been delayed may be finished speedily, even by tomorrow if it be His good will. We ask for a mighty solution, for our God is a very present help in time of trouble, and He is able to provide what is needful. As we are taught to trust Him in temporal things, acting with all prudence and uprightness while relying simply and entirely upon Him, so we ask Him to grant you patience in the waiting and provision in the need.

And if in His wisdom it should be that you must seek another dwelling, we pray that He who is our All in All will open the way to a suitable home, and provide it by His own hand, where you may dwell in peace and contentment. May He guide you with wisdom and keep you from anxiety, giving you to prove that godliness with contentment is great gain, and that they who trust in the Lord shall not be confounded.

May your soul wait thou only upon God, and may you find Him to be your strength and your supply, both for the body and for the soul. We commit you to His gracious care, praying in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access and peace with God. Amen.
