We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because the heating system is being repaired. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water… Please pray for a solution, and that I won't have to move. Please pray that God provides an alternative home.

We hear your request and we understand how trying this is, to be without hot water and to have to face ice cold water each day, especially when a promise was made that it would be finished and it was not. We know that our Father cares about even these daily needs and comforts, and He invites us to bring every concern to Him.

We are reminded in scripture, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We are also reminded, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Even in a small but very real hardship like this, God sees you and He is able to provide.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name both for salvation and for daily help in prayer. It is in His name that we pray and are heard.

We join together now and pray for you. Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this need for hot water. Lord, You know the discomfort and the frustration of this delay. We ask that You would move on behalf of those doing the repairs, that You would give them skill and diligence and that the heating system would be fully restored quickly, even by tomorrow if it is Your will. We pray for a solution for washing and for daily needs in the meantime, and we ask that You would keep this home habitable and safe. Lord, we pray about the concern of having to move. We ask that if it is Your will for this apartment to remain available, that You would make a way for it to stay, and if You have another home prepared, that You would clearly provide and guide to an alternative home that is affordable, peaceful and suitable. Your word says, Do not be anxious, saying, What will we eat or What will we drink or With what will we be clothed, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33. We seek Your will above our own wishes, and we trust You to lead. Give peace, patience and thankfulness in this waiting, and help us to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward us. 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord whether He keeps you where you are or provides another place. We encourage you to also speak kindly and patiently with the building management and repair workers, praying for them as well, and to take practical steps the Lord may provide, such as heating water if possible or seeking help from neighbors or family for a short time, while you wait. We will keep praying that the work is completed promptly and that the Lord gives you peace and a clear direction about your home, and that you will see His provision and care in this very practical need. Thank you for letting us know about the hot water situation. Going without hot water day after day is exhausting, especially when you were counting on it being back by Tuesday and now you are left waiting and wondering what will happen next. It makes sense you would feel unsettled about whether you will need to move.

We are standing with you in prayer for a timely repair and for peace while you wait. A practical step that sometimes helps in this kind of delay is to ask the building manager for a short written update with the new timeline and whether they can offer any temporary help, like access to another shower facility or a credit, while you also look at safe, simple options at home for a day or two, like heating a small amount of water on the stove for washing if you are able to do so safely.

We also hear your prayer about housing, that you would not be forced to move but that God would provide a stable and suitable place for you, whether that means this repair is completed quickly or He opens another good option.

Father, we bring this apartment and the workers repairing the system to You. Please provide hot water soon, give wisdom to those doing the repairs, and give our friend rest and clarity as they wait for answers about their home. Guide their next steps and provide for their needs. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your need has been heard and we join you in bringing this temporal trial before the Lord who cares for all the concerns of His people.

It is right to tell the Lord of these daily discomforts, for He would have us trust Him not only for our souls but for our bodies and our dwellings. As the Psalmist says, What time I am afraid, I will trust in You. And again it is written, He that trusts in the Lord, happy is he. We are not to trust in chance or in the promises of men alone, but to act with prudence and to rest simply and entirely upon Him who is a very present help in time of trouble.

We pray with you now.

Our Father in heaven, we thank You that You know our frame and our daily needs. You see this home without hot water and the discomfort and difficulty it brings. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access and peace with You, that You would give skill and diligence to those who repair the heating system, and if it be Your will, grant that the work may be finished quickly, even by tomorrow. Give patience and quietness of heart while waiting, and keep from all murmuring. Provide what is needed for daily washing and health, and open a way where there seems to be no way. If a move should become necessary, we ask You to provide a suitable home according to Your wisdom and goodness, and to guide each step. Above all, grant a contentment that rejoices in You even when comforts fail, knowing that to have You is to have all things. Help this dear one to trust You first and then not to fear, resting in the love of Christ and the power of His arm.

We commend you to Him who has never failed those who trust Him. Our fathers trusted in Him and were not confounded, and He will not desert those who look to Him now. May you find that even in this small trial, faith is strengthened and patience is perfected, and may you be kept in quietness as you rest in His finished work.

Father in heaven, we thank You that You are near and that You hear prayer. We ask You to have mercy on this household and on all in the building who are without hot water. Grant skill and diligence to those who are repairing the heating system, and we pray that the work may be finished quickly, if it be Your will even by tomorrow, so that hot water is restored. Provide what is needed for daily washing and give strength to endure the discomfort with a calm heart. Take away fear about having to move, and give wisdom about what to do. If to remain is best, open the way for that. If You provide another home, lead clearly and provide what is needed for that provision. Above all, nourish hope and patience in this time of waiting, comfort the wearied soul through Your Scriptures, and help Your child to trust not in human promises or in personal strength, but in You.

We will continue to remember you in prayer. May the Lord grant you patience in this affliction, hope that does not disappoint, and a swift and good solution for your home.
