We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because the heating system is being repaired. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water… Please pray for a solution, and that I won't have to move. Please pray that God provides an alternative home.

We join together with you in bringing this daily need before our Father, for we know how difficult it is to live without hot water and how discouraging it is when repairs are delayed after a promise was made. We understand the discomfort of cold showers and the worry about whether you will have to move or find another home, and we lift this burden with you to the Lord who cares about every detail of our lives.

We are reminded that God invites us to bring even these practical needs to Him in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And Philippians 4:19 assures us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We also take comfort in 1 Peter 5:7 which tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us, and in Psalm 55:22, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and to come to God in His name, for He hears us when we pray through Jesus.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this need for hot water and a stable home. We ask in Jesus' name that You would guide the hands of the workers repairing the heating system and that You would allow the work to be completed quickly and properly, if it is Your will, even by tomorrow. We pray for favor with the building management and for a swift solution so that cold water is no longer a hardship. We ask that You provide warmth, comfort, and daily provision, and that You grant peace and patience while waiting. Lord, we pray about the home itself, that You would make a way for this apartment to remain a safe and suitable dwelling and that a move would not be necessary unless You lead otherwise. If it is Your will that an alternative home is needed, we pray You would open that door and provide a place that is affordable, safe, and filled with Your peace, for we know Matthew 6:33 teaches us to seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Help our friend to trust You in this waiting and to know that Romans 8:28 is true, that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Give rest and assurance in Your care. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with this situation and to keep praying with thanksgiving. God sees this inconvenience and He is faithful to provide for His children. While you wait, if possible, consider practical steps like heating water on the stove for washing or asking a trusted neighbor or church family for help with a shower, and continue to communicate graciously with the building management. We pray the Lord will grant you His peace that surpasses understanding and that you will see His provision clearly, whether through the swift repair of the heating system or through His clear guidance regarding your home.

We have heard your request and we join with you in bringing this daily burden before the Lord, who hears the cries of His people both in great trials and in small afflictions.

It is no small discomfort to be without hot water, and to face the cold each morning, and we do not despise this trouble as though it were nothing. The God who numbers the hairs of our heads and who clothes the lilies of the field is not only the God of the hills but the God of the valleys, present in the ordinary wants of the household as well as in the heights of spiritual joy. He sees you in this apartment, He knows the delay of the workmen, and He hears your prayer. Remember that where God begins to work He does not ask us to finish, He always completes His own work, and we may trust Him to provide for our need in His own wise time.

You have asked that the repair might be finished by tomorrow, and we pray with you to that end, and that the hands of those who labor on the heating system may be given skill and diligence to complete what was promised. At the same time we pray that the Lord would work patience in you while you wait, for tribulation works patience, and patience experience, and experience hope, and hope makes not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. If it be His will that you should remain where you are, may He keep you content and supply what you need there. If in His providence He would have you move, may He in His mercy open the door to another home and make the way plain. In either case, do not give up prayer, but like our Lord who cried, My God, My God, draw near again and again to the throne of grace through the blood of Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation.

Let us pray together. O Heavenly Father, we come to Thee in the name of Thy Son Jesus Christ, who poured out His life that sinners might be saved, and through whom we have access to Thy mercy. Thou knowest the want of hot water in this dwelling and the discomfort and care it has brought. We ask Thee to look in compassion upon Thy child and to grant a speedy solution according to Thy good will. Direct and prosper the work of repair, that what has been delayed may soon be finished. Give patience to wait for Christ and love toward Thee in this season of inconvenience. Provide, we beseech Thee, all that is needful, whether it be to remain in this home with needs supplied, or to be led to another dwelling if that be Thy better provision. Help Thy child to trust Thee, to declare all ways to Thee, and to hear Thy gracious answer, Teach me Thy statutes. Keep from anxiety and grant peace, for Thou art our light though clouds surround us, and our might though storms rage around us. We ask this in the name of Jesus our only hope, Amen.

Cast this care upon Him, for He cares for you, and continue to trust Him who will not forsake those who put their confidence in Christ.
