apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home

We hear your need and we lift it up together before the Father in Jesus' name, asking for His provision and mercy in this very practical trial of being without hot water. We know how difficult and uncomfortable it is to live without such a basic necessity, especially when a promise to have it repaired was not kept, and we understand your longing for a mighty and quick solution.

We are reminded that our God cares about every detail of our lives, even the small discomforts. He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him. Psalm 55:22 says, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. And Psalm 46:1 reminds us, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We take comfort also in the promise of Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Romans 8:28 assures us, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Even in this inconvenience, He is working for your good.

We join together in prayer for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and we lift up this need for hot water and for a warm home. Lord, You see the apartment building and the heating system that is being repaired. We ask that You would give skill and diligence to the workers and to those in charge, that what was delayed would be completed quickly and well, and that hot water would be restored by tomorrow as we ask. We pray for Your peace to guard this heart while waiting, and for Your provision for daily needs, even for a way to stay warm and clean in the meantime. If it is Your will that a move is necessary, we ask that You would open the right doors and provide an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and a place of peace, for Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Lead and guide each step, and let Your will be done. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We also want to gently encourage you, as we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence, knowing He hears us.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord for this provision, to keep praying and to give thanks even in this trial, and to ask Him for wisdom about whether to wait or to seek another home. We will continue to stand with you, asking God to bring a swift and complete restoration of heat and hot water, or a better place prepared by His hand if that is His plan.

While you wait, it may help to get a clear update in writing from the building management about what is still being repaired and when they now expect hot water to return. Sometimes having that date and a contact person makes it easier to plan the next day or two, and to know what temporary options they can offer in the meantime, like access to another shower facility in the building.

Father, we lift up this practical need to You and ask for Your provision and peace. Please bring the repair work to a swift completion, keep this building safe, and give our friend clear guidance and an open door if a move becomes necessary. Provide what is needed for daily life and rest in the meantime. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden concerning the cold in your dwelling has been laid before the Lord, and we have joined with you in prayer. Though this trial touches only the comforts of the body, yet the Lord sees how it wearies you, and even temporal affairs are in His hand. He knows what it is to wait for promised help that is delayed, and to feel the discomfort of each day.

We are reminded that the Lord waits that He may be gracious unto us, and His waiting people wait upon Him. This is a season to say with the Psalmist, My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. When comforts fail, when the heat and water are withheld, we learn again that our entire dependence is upon God, who is our All in All. The Scriptures teach us that if we have God we have all that we can possibly need, for He will supply our needs out of the riches of His fullness. Even if the herd be not in the stall and the ordinary mercies be withdrawn for a season, yet still we may rejoice in God and delight in Him as our Father.

Therefore let us count it not strange when we fall into such trials, but let patience have its perfect work. The patience which God works in us by tribulation first accepts the trial as from His hand without murmur, and then acts without undue haste, trusting Him in temporal things. Happy is he who trusts in the Lord in these daily matters, not trusting in man nor in chance, but relying simply and entirely upon Him who has never failed those who trusted in Him. Our fathers trusted in Him and were not confounded, and we have never been thrown into any condition where we could not find in God all we needed. What time we are afraid, we will trust in Him, and that faith, like the lamp in the temple, shall be daily replenished with fresh oil as we look to Him.

We have prayed that the Lord in His mercy would move upon those who labour upon the heating system, that what was promised for Tuesday may be speedily and soundly completed, and that by tomorrow you may again have what is needful for your dwelling. We have asked Him to keep you in health and patience through this cold, to guard you from all harm, and to give you a contented heart that lives wholly upon God. And if it be His will that you should remain where you are, we pray He will make it habitable and peaceful, but if in His wisdom He would have you move, we pray He will in His own time and way provide an alternative home that is suitable, quiet, and within your means, and that He will make the way plain before you.

May the Lord, who is not severe but gracious and ready to forgive and to help, give you to know His nearness in this small trial, and to find your joy not only in the return of warmth and water, but in God Himself. May you be kept trusting and not fearing, waiting in hope and not in despair, until you see His hand supply.

We commit you to Him who hears the prayer of His people, trusting that He will do what is best for your good and for His glory. Amen.

We have heard your request and we are praying with you in this very practical need. To be without hot water, especially when you were told it would be restored and it was not, is a real hardship and we understand how difficult it is to endure.

We are asking God to grant a mighty solution for you. We pray that He will give skill and diligence to those repairing the heating system and that the work will be finished by tomorrow as you hope, so that hot water will be restored to your apartment. We pray also for your protection and health while you wait, and for peace in your home during this inconvenience.

We also pray as you asked, that if a move becomes necessary, God in His provision and wisdom will open the right door and provide a suitable home for you, one where you can live in peace and care for your daily needs.

In times like this we are reminded that patience is part of loving and trusting God, to endure without being troubled while we wait for His help. Hope that is seen is not hope, and the good things God has promised are kept for us, but He refreshes our souls even now through His promises and strengthens us through the Scriptures to wait with patience.
