Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this need so honestly. Going two weeks without hot water is a real hardship, and I understand how discouraging it is to still feel cold after showering and to see black particles in the water from the tap. It is good to thank God for the improvement to lukewarm water, and we will keep praying with you that the water becomes fully hot and clean and safe again very soon.
I am praying for you in the name of Jesus that the repairs would be completed well, that the source of the contamination would be found and cleared, and that your water would run hot and pure. I am also praying for your health and protection, that the unclean water and the cold would not make you sick, and that God would guard you from any harm while you wait, including the mild symptoms you mentioned.
Your need for water each day is a reminder of how much we depend on it. The body cannot live long without water, and in daily life we are always thinking about where our water will come from. Scripture uses that same picture to talk about our spiritual thirst. Jesus met a woman at a well and talked with her about ordinary water on a very common level. He told her that anyone who drinks that well water will thirst again, but whoever drinks the water He gives will never thirst again. The water He gives becomes inside a person like a fresh spring welling up to everlasting life. Elsewhere He invites anyone who is thirsty to come to Him and drink, and promises that from within that person will flow rivers of living water.
That living water is not drawn with a bucket from deep down like water that seeps into a dug well. It is like spring water, fresh and flowing, given freely. God provided water from the rock in the wilderness for His people. That rock had to be struck before the water could flow, and in the same way Christ was struck for us so that the water of life could come forth. We do not need to strike Him again. We simply come to Him by faith and ask, and He gives.
Scripture also speaks of water for cleansing. Under the old pattern there was water mixed with ashes for purification when a person was unclean, and for the cleansing of a person with leprosy there was blood and water. That points to what Jesus did when His side was pierced and blood and water came forth. He is the one who has power to make clean. One man came and knelt before Him and said, if You are willing You can make me clean, and Jesus answered with compassion, I am willing, be clean. He is still willing and able to cleanse and to provide.
So we bring both your physical need and your spiritual need to Him together. We ask Him to restore hot, clean water to your house, to keep you warm and well, and to continue to fill you with His living water so that your soul is satisfied and at peace even in this uncomfortable time. May you know His nearness and provision each day, and may you be refreshed by the well of life He places within those who trust Him.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for Your care for daily needs. We ask You to bring fully hot and clean water back to this home, to guide those doing the repairs, to wash away what is unclean, and to protect health. And we thank You for the living water You give through Jesus, that never runs dry. Fill this heart with Your peace and life today. Amen.
