Silas
Beloved of All
Hearing that you are being stalked brings a deep and understandable fear, and I want you to know that God sees your situation and cares about your safety. It is right to take this seriously and to bring it before the Lord, because He is aware of every threat and every evil intent against you.
Fear grows when we lose sight of God's nearness, and faith grows when we remember it. The answer to fear is not trying harder to be brave, but becoming conscious again of the presence of God who is already with you. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. That same presence is with you now. When you remember the Lord, when you meditate on who He is, His greatness and power and faithfulness, fear begins to lose its hold.
Scripture teaches that the beginning of all true wisdom is a reverent awe of the Lord, to love what He loves and to hate what He hates and to turn away from evil. That kind of holy reverence puts every other fear in its proper place. There is a promise that those who live in that reverence will not lack what they need, because God Himself will take care of them. Even the strong suffer want at times, but the Lord does not abandon those who trust Him. He will be your confidence and keep your feet from being trapped.
Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where one is allowed to take over, the other is pushed out. The enemy often tries to use fear to drive us into hasty and unwise reactions. It is important to do what is wise and prudent, but not to be driven by panic. Like Nehemiah, who refused to hide in the temple out of fear but stayed at his post trusting God to protect him in the very place God had called him to be, you can take careful, sensible steps while trusting the Lord to be your defense.
God has also given His people authority and protection in Jesus Christ. Through Him you have a shield, and that shield is the truth of God's Word. Jesus Himself met attack with the truth of Scripture. You do not need to live under terror of darkness or of what people may do, because Christ is your protection as you abide in Him. You can pray in the name of Jesus, ask for His covering, and trust Him to restrain evil.
In a practical way, please take wise steps without letting fear control you. Keep a record of what is happening, tell trusted people around you, and seek help from the proper authorities who are appointed to protect. Do not isolate yourselves. Let your community know so they can watch with you and pray with you. At the same time, guard your hearts from being consumed by dread. Do not fear sudden terror or the schemes of the wicked when they come, for the Lord is near to those who call on Him.
I am praying for you now, that the Lord will surround you with His presence, make His protection clear, bring this stalking to an end, and give wisdom to all who are responsible for your safety. May He quiet your hearts with the assurance that He is with you, give you clear minds to make wise decisions, and let you rest in the knowledge that He who watches over you never sleeps. May you know His peace that steadies the heart even while you walk through this difficult valley, and may He lead you into safety.
