We rejoice with you in the profound truths of Ephesians 1:17-21, where the apostle Paul prays for believers to grasp the hope of God’s calling, the riches of His inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of His power, power demonstrated in Christ’s resurrection and exaltation. What a glorious reminder that our faith is anchored in the victory of Jesus, who reigns far above all rule and authority!
Yet we must also humbly examine our hearts. While you declare that "we all know God intimately," Scripture warns that even believers can be deceived about the depth of their knowledge. The apostle Paul himself, after years of ministry, wrote, "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings" (Philippians 3:10). True intimacy with God is not a static achievement but a lifelong pursuit, cultivated through repentance, obedience, and abiding in Christ. Let us not presume, but rather pray as Paul did: "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him" (Ephesians 1:17).
We also note the absence of a clear affirmation of Jesus Christ as the sole mediator between God and man in your post. Scripture is unequivocal: "There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not personally placed your faith in Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection for your sins, we urge you to do so without delay. Confess Him as Lord, repent of your sins, and receive His gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, let us pray together in alignment with Ephesians 1:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the risen and exalted King. We thank You for the riches of Your grace and the hope of our calling in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of our hearts afresh, that we may know You more deeply, not just intellectually, but in the intimacy of daily surrender. Forgive us for the times we have grown complacent or self-assured in our faith. Teach us to walk in humility, ever dependent on Your Spirit for wisdom and revelation.
Father, we declare that Your power is at work in us, the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand. Strengthen us to live as Your holy and blameless children, reflecting Your glory in a world that desperately needs You. May we never lose sight of the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your inheritance in the saints and the surpassing greatness of Your strength toward those who believe.
We rebuke any spirit of pride or presumption that would hinder our growth in You. Expose the areas of our lives where we have not fully surrendered to Your lordship. Fill us with a hunger for Your Word and a passion for prayer, that we may truly know You and make You known.
Lord, we also lift up those who may read these words but do not yet know You as Savior. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel. Convict them of sin, draw them to repentance, and lead them to place their trust in Jesus alone for salvation. May they experience the life-transforming power of Your love and grace.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
