Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you so much that a customer was very nice and saying good things about my friend after a success on his nephew with the customers nephew, of course, and so the boss eased up he was not necessarily friendly, but he eased up. But he’s still corrupt, according with my friend says so please help him get good reviews and stay for when he needs to and then maybe leave just a little later. In Nesus Name Amen.

We join with you in thanking our Lord Jesus for this answered prayer and for the kindness of that customer. It is a blessing to see how God can use a good word from another person to bring relief in the workplace, even when a boss eases up only a little. We rejoice with you and with your friend that the pressure has lessened for now.

We are reminded that God sees all of our work and our hardships. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. And we take comfort that promotion and favor ultimately come from Him, for neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another Psalm 75:6-7. When a man's ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him Proverbs 16:7. That peace you saw when the boss eased up is a testimony to God's hand.

We also hear your concern that the boss is still corrupt according to what your friend has shared. We want to gently encourage you and your friend to walk with both integrity and discernment. We are called not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21, and to commit our way to the Lord and trust Him to act Psalm 37:5. If there is true corruption, we pray for truth to be revealed in God's timing and for the boss's heart to be convicted and turned toward righteousness, while we must also be careful not to hold onto gossip or bitterness, but to speak truthfully and leave judgment to God.

Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus Christ for Your mercy in this situation. Thank You for moving through that customer to speak good things and for giving a season of relief from a hard boss. We ask You to continue to protect and favor this dear friend in his washing up work. Grant him good reviews, skillful hands, and a good testimony before customers and coworkers, so that his work may glorify You. Give him wisdom to know when to stay and when it is time to leave, and provide for every need as he waits on Your perfect timing. Guard his heart from discouragement and from any corrupt influence, and help him to work honestly as unto You. We also lift up his boss to You, Lord, that You would convict him of any wrongdoing and lead him to walk in honesty and kindness, and that You would bring justice with mercy. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only mediator and Savior, amen.

We encourage your friend to continue to do excellent work for the Lord's sake, to document his good work for those reviews, and to seek wise counsel about his future. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1. We trust with you that God will open the right door at the right time, whether to remain a little longer or to move on to something better, and we will keep praying for God's favor and provision to be clear in the days ahead.

We're so glad you wrote back and let us know the pressure eased a bit. It means a lot when a kind word from a customer makes a difference, and we can hear how much you care for your friend and want him to be steady at work.

Those in-between seasons at work are hard, when things are a little calmer but still feel uncertain because of the way a boss leads. It's understandable to want your friend to have time to build a good record and then make a wise choice about what's next, not a rushed one. One simple way we have seen help in similar situations is to quietly keep note of the good feedback when it comes, like that customer's encouragement, and keep doing steady, honest work day by day. It can also help your friend to talk through his longer term options with one trusted, level headed person when things are calm, so he can weigh timing and provision clearly. Your steady friendship and prayer are already a real support to him.

Father, we thank You for that encouraging moment with the customer and for the little bit of relief it brought. We lift this friend to You and ask for wisdom for each workday, for integrity and steadiness in his work, and for Your provision and guidance about how long to stay and when to step toward something new. Give our friend here peace as he cares and prays. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

We join you in thanking the Lord for this measure of relief, that He inclined the heart of a customer to speak kindly and that your friend found a little ease under the hand of his master. Every good word and every softening of trial comes from the hand of our gracious God, who in His providence orders even the words of strangers for the good of His people.

We will pray that your friend may be kept patient and upright in his labour, as Job was kept when sorely tried, who sinned not nor charged God foolishly, but worshipped still. May your friend be given grace to do his work heartily as unto the Lord, to speak truth, to act honestly, and to show that meek and faithful spirit which adorns the doctrine of Christ. If his employer deals corruptly, we pray that the Lord would not leave him so, but would work conviction and bring him to walk in integrity, for the Lord delights in honest dealings and in a true heart.

We ask the Lord to provide for your friend according to His wisdom, to grant him favour where favour is rightly given, and to let any good report of his work be the fruit of honest labour. If it be the Lord's will, may he be sustained in this place for as long as he has need, and be guided in due time whether to remain or to depart, with a clear conscience and with trust not in man but in the God who turned the captivity of Job when he prayed.

Let us pray together. O Lord Jesus Christ, who alone art our salvation and our righteousness, we thank Thee for Thy mercy in this small respite. Keep Thy servant faithful in little things, guard his lips and his hands from all evil, and make him to abhor himself where he has sinned and to repent and look to Thee. Convert, we beseech Thee, those who use power unjustly, and bring them to know Thy grace. Provide daily bread, give wisdom for every step, and let Thy name be honoured in this workplace. Hear us for Thy great mercy's sake. Amen.
