I keep messing up, but when I ask for help I feel like a FRAUD.

Disciple of Prayer
I'm trying to start college in the fall but I have to submit an appeal again. I need God to help work a miracle in my situation so I can get the financial aid I need to attend, but when asking Him for help I just feel like a fraud. All within the same week I started talking to an unequally yoked ex and having phone sex that led me to began masturbating to porn again. I've not opened my Bible, because I feel so guilty. I even feel guilty asking for help and prayer because I know better, I've experienced the power and authority of Christ over my darkest sins and flaws, yet I looked back like lot's wife. I get so scared that God is tired of me and he doesn't believe me anymore when I say I'm done. I just want God to know that I know I mess up an infinite amount of times, and I'm sorry that it seems I only cry out to him after I've had my fun with sin, but conviction of the Holy Spirit is still stirred inside of me and I miss the Lord. Jesus I miss you and I'm sorry that I only seem to remember that when sin has run it's course and had it's way with me. I hate sin, I hate what it does to me. It hate the plight of having flesh that goes against the very own Spirit God has put inside me. Lord, help me please. It's deeper than just school. Lord without you there is nothing good that can come from me. Please stay here with me. I need you, again.

We hear the raw honesty in your cry, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, where mercy triumphs over judgment. Your struggle is not unique, every believer battles the tension between flesh and Spirit, but your repentance is real, and that is where we begin. The enemy wants you to believe you’re a fraud, that God is weary of you, or that your failures disqualify you from His love. But Scripture declares: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Your guilt is not a sign of God’s rejection; it is evidence of His Spirit still at work in you, drawing you back to Himself.

First, we must address the sin that has entangled you, not to condemn, but to liberate. The reunion with your ex and the return to sexual immorality (phone sex, masturbation, pornography) grieves the Holy Spirit, for these things distort God’s design for intimacy, which is reserved for the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). You are not your own, you were bought with the precious blood of Christ. This is not about shame; it is about stewardship of the temple He has entrusted to you.

The unequally yoked relationship is another snare. Scripture is clear: "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This is not about judgment but protection. A relationship where Christ is not the foundation will only pull you away from Him. We must rebuke the enemy’s lie that this person is your source of comfort or validation. True fulfillment is found in Christ alone.

Now, let us pray for you with boldness, for you are not a fraud, you are a child of God in need of His grace, and He delights in giving it:

"Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, who is wrestling with the weight of sin and the fear of Your rejection. Lord, we thank You that Your mercies are new every morning, and Your faithfulness is not dependent on our performance. We declare over them that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). You are not tired of them; You are the God who runs to meet the prodigal, who rejoices over the one who returns (Luke 15:20). Forgive them for the sexual immorality, the compromise, and the turning back to old patterns. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus, and restore to them the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12).

Lord, we ask for a miracle regarding their financial aid and college appeal. You are the God who opens doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and we trust You to provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). But more than that, we pray for a deeper hunger for Your Word. Stir in them a desire to feast on Scripture, to hide it in their heart so they might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11). Break the chains of guilt and shame that keep them from Your presence. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We rebuke the spirit of condemnation and the lies of the enemy that tell them they are beyond Your grace. We declare that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5), including their heart, their mind, and their circumstances. Strengthen them to flee temptation, to set boundaries with the unequally yoked relationship, and to walk in purity. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may bear the fruit of self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Above all, Lord, draw them close. Let them feel Your embrace, hear Your voice, and know that You are not done with them. You began a good work in them, and You will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Amen."

You are not alone in this battle. The fact that you hate your sin and long for the Lord is proof that His Spirit is still at work in you. The apostle Paul, who called himself the "chief of sinners," also cried out, "For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, this I practice" (Romans 7:19). Yet he found hope in Christ: "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!" (Romans 7:24-25). Your deliverance is not found in your own strength but in His.

Here is what we encourage you to do:
1. Repent and Receive Forgiveness: Confess your sins to God, not as a ritual, but as a heartfelt turning away from them. Believe that He forgives you completely. Write down the sins you’ve committed, then write over them, "Paid in full by the blood of Jesus." Burn or tear up the paper as a symbolic act of release.
2. Flee Temptation: Delete the ex’s number, block them if necessary, and install accountability software on your devices to guard against pornography. "Run from youthful lusts" (2 Timothy 2:22).
3. Immerse Yourself in Scripture: Start small, even one verse a day. Meditate on Psalm 51, which is David’s prayer of repentance after his own grave sins. Let it remind you that God’s grace is bigger than your failure.
4. Seek Accountability: Find a trusted, mature believer (preferably of the same gender) to walk with you. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed."
5. Replace the Old with the New: When temptation comes, redirect your mind to worship, prayer, or serving others. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2).
6. Trust God for Your Future: The college appeal is not too hard for Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

You are not a fraud. You are a beloved child of God who has stumbled but is not cast aside. The cross is proof that He knew you would fail, and He chose to die for you anyway. Your story is not over; it is being written by the Author of redemption. Keep crying out to Him. Keep running to Him. He is not tired of you. He is waiting with open arms.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Only dobt give up prayer. Pray in a dedicated fashion daily here with us over others. If this person makes you sin worse or makes you feel better only you can know what to do next. May God guide you and give you clarity so you dont look at porn anymore which distorts Gods design for intimacy which in marriage is rooted in love and connection and feelings of mutual respect but in porn is in every case virtual adultery. Fornication. And lust. Nsy God help you inly dont stop seeking the Lord in prayer and in his word.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
