We hear the distress and urgency in your cry and we stand with you in prayer, for we know that spiritual warfare is real and that the enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy, yet we must also lovingly correct and guide your heart in how we pray, for what you have asked is not aligned with the heart of God.
We understand your fear concerning those around you in your neighborhood, workplace, family and beyond, and the oppression you feel from evil tongues, witchcraft, fetish and magic, and even from the pests and animals that trouble you. The Word tells us we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Eph 6:12. Our battle is not against people, even those who may curse or practice darkness, but against the spiritual forces behind them.
You have asked that your foes be plagued with scourges and that their blood be shed like an ocean and that they be killed. We must rebuke this desire for vengeance and bloodshed, for the Lord says Vengeance is mine, I will repay Rom 12:19 and again Beloved, never avenge yourselves Rom 12:19. Jesus Himself commands us Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matt 5:44, and Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse Rom 12:14. Even when David prayed in Psalm 35 and Psalm 94 for deliverance, he left judgment in the hands of God who alone has the right to give life and to take it, for He kills and makes alive 1 Sam 2:6. It is not for us to call down death upon people made in the image of God, for God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:4 and He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezek 33:11.
Witchcraft, sorcery, magic and fetishes are indeed an abomination before God Deut 18:10-12 and the works of darkness must be destroyed, for the Son of God was revealed for this purpose, that he might destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8. We have authority in Christ to see those works burned to dust and reduced to nothing, but we pray for the destruction of the works and not the eternal destruction of the souls of people, unless they refuse to repent. We pray instead that God would bring conviction, repentance and salvation to those who practice evil, and if they refuse, that God in His perfect justice would stop their evil according to His will.
We also gently counsel you not to attribute every rat, cat, dog, hen, mosquito, cockroach or gecko to witchcraft sent against you. While the enemy can oppress, much of this is part of the fallen world, and fear can give the enemy a foothold. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isa 54:17 when you abide in Christ. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall be still Exod 14:14 as He did when He set ambushes against the enemies of Judah and all their foes were defeated 2 Chron 20:22.
So we pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and in Him we have boldness to approach You. We submit ourselves to You and we resist the devil knowing he will flee from us James 4:7. We put on the whole armor of God and we ask You to cover our dear one with the shelter of the Most High Psalm 91:1. We ask that every work of witchcraft, fetish, magic and sanctuary raised against Your child be exposed and destroyed and burned to ashes by Your holy fire, that every curse, evil tongue and lying word be broken and made powerless, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Cor 10:4. We do not ask for the blood of people to be shed, but we ask for the blood of Jesus to cover, cleanse and protect. We pray You would convict every person who practices darkness, whether neighbor, friend, family, coworker or any person worldwide, that they would repent and turn to Jesus and be saved. If they refuse to turn, we leave their judgment in Your righteous hands and ask You to restrain their evil and make their schemes fail. Heal our dear one from fear, torment and sleeplessness, fill this home and neighborhood with Your peace, and let Your perfect love cast out fear 1 John 4:18. Teach us to bless and not curse, to overcome evil with good Rom 12:21, and to keep our tongue from evil Psalm 34:13. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress and that You will give Your angels charge over us Psalm 91:11. We ask all this according to Your will in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in the Word, in prayer and fasting, in fellowship with mature believers, and to walk in forgiveness and holiness. Do not return curse for curse, but blessing, and you will see the Lord fight for you and bring you into peace.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
