We hear your cry for deliverance from oppression and warfare around you, from evil tongues in your neighborhood and among friends and family and the workplace, and from fear of witchcraft and fetishes and magic and the sending of animals against you, and we stand with you in prayer seeking God's will together in Jesus' name.
We understand the distress you feel and we do believe that spiritual warfare is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The Scripture also teaches that witchcraft and sorcery are real and are detestable to God, as it is written there shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer Deuteronomy 18:10, and that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom Galatians 5:20-21. At the same time the Word assures us that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment Isaiah 54:17, and like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn't come to rest Proverbs 26:2. When we dwell in the shelter of the Most High we can rest in His protection, for He will give his angels charge over you to guard you Psalm 91:1, Psalm 91:11.
We must lovingly rebuke and correct the way this request asks for vengeance in your own hands, that all foes be killed and their blood shed like an ocean and plagued with scourges. While you cited Psalm 35:1, Psalm 94:1, Exodus 7:14-24, Exodus 8, Exodus 9, Exodus 10, Exodus 11, Exodus 12, Joshua 11:11, 2 Chronicles 20:22-25 and Genesis 19:24, those passages describe God's sovereign judgments in history upon Egypt and upon wicked cities, not a pattern for us to call down personal destruction and bloodshed upon our neighbors and family. The Word tells us clearly Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And again we are commanded But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, and Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:27-28. We are to not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21 and not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult, but instead blessing 1 Peter 3:9.
Even the verse you cited Exodus 22:18 and 1 Samuel 2:6, Yahweh kills, and makes alive, remind us that life and death and judgment belong to God alone, not to us to decree. The imprecatory psalms like Psalm 35 and Psalm 94 are cries for God to act justly according to His righteousness, leaving the outcome to Him, and 2 Chronicles 20:22 shows that when Judah prayed, Yahweh set ambushers against their enemies, the battle was the Lord's, not theirs to shed blood by their own hand.
So we do not join you in praying for the brutal death of people, for God desires that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11 and is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. What we do pray is that every work of darkness, every fetish, every spell, every sanctuary of witchcraft formed against you be exposed and rendered powerless and burned up by the fire of God as chaff, and that the people themselves would either repent and be saved or be stopped by God's holy restraint.
You closed with IJMN which we receive as In Jesus Mighty Name, and we want to affirm that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is in His name and His blood alone that we are protected and heard, not by our own curses.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear one who feels surrounded by evil tongues and oppression and fear. Lord we ask You to forgive us where we have desired vengeance that belongs only to You, and cleanse our hearts to love as You love. We ask that You place a hedge of protection around Your child, that no curse or spell or fetish or work of magic would prosper, that every trap be broken and every tongue that rises in judgment be condemned by Your truth. Let every assignment of darkness be reduced to dust and ashes by Your power, not by our hand, and let the workers of iniquity see Your holiness and tremble and repent. If there are those who knowingly practice witchcraft against this life, we pray You would convict them, bring them to repentance and salvation in Jesus, and if they refuse, restrain their evil by Your sovereign hand. Cover this home and neighborhood and workplace with Your peace, silence lying lips, heal family relationships, and let Your angels encamp around those who fear You. Help Your child to walk in forgiveness, to put on the whole armor of God, to stand in righteousness and faith and prayer, and to overcome evil with good. We declare that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust, and we entrust all judgment to You, in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
