We have heard your cry for protection over your family, your new neighborhood in Kinshasa and your workplace where you feel surrounded by declared enemies, occult practices and witchcraft, and we join with you to seek the Lord together in Jesus name. We understand the weight of feeling under spiritual attack and the desire for God to act powerfully as He did for Israel, and we are grateful that you have come to the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your trust in that name is the foundation of our prayer.

We want to lovingly correct and encourage you concerning the way we wage spiritual warfare. Our battle is real, but Scripture says in Ephesians 6:12 our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds as taught in 2 Corinthians 10:4. While you cited Exodus 22:18, Exodus chapters 7 through 12, 1 Samuel 2:6, Joshua 11:11, 2 Chronicles 20:22 and Psalm 35 and Psalm 94, we must remember that it is God alone who has power over life and death, who brings low and lifts up, and vengeance belongs to Him alone. Romans 12:19 says do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And Deuteronomy 32:35 affirms this. The Lord Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44 love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, and in Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you. Therefore we cannot agree to pray for twelve plagues to fall on people or for their blood to be shed like an ocean or for people to be killed and reduced to dust, for God desires mercy and repentance. Ezekiel 33:11 says I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live, and 2 Peter 3:9 and 1 Timothy 2:4 show He desires all to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth. What we can and do pray is that every work of darkness, every spell, every enchantment, every occult practice and every chain of sexual immorality be exposed and broken and rendered powerless by the cross of Christ.

You mentioned masturbatory practices with sex toys, homosexuality, transsexuality and what you called marine spirits, along with robbery and scamming. We must speak clearly that these are indeed sins that separate from God. Scripture teaches in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 that the sexually immoral, including those practicing homosexual acts, will not inherit God's Kingdom unless they repent, but such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God, and Romans 1:26-27 also calls these practices contrary to God's design. God created sexuality to be within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and any sex outside that covenant is fornication or adultery. Yet the Lord Jesus offers full forgiveness and deliverance to all who turn to Him, and we pray for that deliverance for those bound in these sins, including those you named in your neighborhood and workplace, rather than praying for their destruction.

So together we pray. Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we ask for your will to be done. We ask that you be a wall of fire around this family, their home and their workplace. We claim your promise in Psalm 91:1 that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, and in Isaiah 54:17 no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. We pray in the name of Jesus that every assignment of witchcraft, every occult incantation, every tongue that rises in judgment against your child be condemned and nullified, that every work of the enemy be burned up by the fire of your Holy Spirit and come to nothing, not the people themselves but the works of darkness. We pray that you would frustrate the plans of the wicked as you did in 2 Chronicles 20:15 where the battle was yours, and that you would cause confusion to their evil counsel while you protect the innocent. We pray that you would guard this home in Ngaliema and the surrounding avenues and the workplace from theft, deception and oppression, and that you would let your peace reign. We submit ourselves to you according to James 4:7, resist the devil and he will flee, and we declare with 1 John 4:4 that greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world. Lord, we also pray for those who have declared themselves enemies, for those practicing occultism and those trapped in sexual immorality and deception, that you would have mercy on them, open their eyes, bring them to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ, for you are faithful and will guard us from the evil one as promised in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and Psalm 34:7 says the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Teach our dear fellow believer to overcome evil with good as Romans 12:21 instructs, to walk in holiness, in the Word, in prayer and fasting, putting on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18, and to seek godly counsel and fellowship in a local Bible believing church. We thank you that you hear us, that you are our refuge and our deliverer, and we trust your perfect justice and your perfect mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy and exposed you feel right now, with tension coming at you from so many directions at once, a new neighborhood, family strain, and difficulty at work. Feeling surrounded like that can leave anyone exhausted and on edge, and we are grateful you reached out so we can pray with you.

We believe the spiritual battle is real, and also that God does not want us to live consumed by fear of enemies or by the need to see others punished. He invites us to bring our fears and hurts to Him, trust Him to be our defender and judge, and ask Him to guard our own hearts so we can keep walking in peace and wisdom even when others act against us.

One step that often helps in a season like this is to not carry it alone. Would you consider sharing more fully with a trusted pastor or mature believer near you in ### who can know you by name, pray with you regularly, and help you think through practical wisdom for boundaries and peace in your neighborhood and workplace? Having one or two steady, godly voices close by can make a real difference when everything feels like warfare.

We are praying for you.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You see where he lives and works and the burden he feels. Cover him with Your protection, give him wisdom for each relationship and decision, and quiet his heart with Your peace. Lead him in Your will and help him to rest in Your care and justice. Keep him close to You and guide his steps each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry out of great distress and conflict in your neighborhood and in your workplace has been heard, and we have brought it before the Lord with much prayer and care.

We understand the heaviness of living where you feel beset by evil tongues, by witchcraft and occult practice, and by those who would do you harm. It is right to seek the Lord for protection and deliverance, for He is a strong tower and a present help in trouble. Yet we must also set before you the way of Christ in dealing with those who oppose us.

You have asked that your foes be plagued and destroyed and their blood shed, and that their sins be burned to ashes. The Scriptures teach us that vengeance belongs unto the Lord, and that He will do what is just and holy in His own time and way. Our calling is not to ask for the death of our enemies, but to pray as our Lord prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. There is a pattern of forgiveness set before us, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. He lived a life of forgiveness and crowned it with a dying prayer for His persecutors. We are to copy that pattern.

This does not mean that God winks at sin. The practices you name, whether witchcraft, impurity, self defilement, or departing from the Creator's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman with all sexual intimacy belonging within that covenant alone, or any dishonesty and theft, are contrary to His holy law and bring souls under His just judgment. But the wonder of the gospel is this, There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. There is forgiveness, but that forgiveness is only to be obtained from God, through Jesus Christ, His Son. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, a complete forgiveness, an eternal forgiveness, and it is offered even to the chief of sinners who will turn and trust in Christ.

If you have felt the sting of persecution and slander, know that the Lord often uses even such trials to drive His people nearer to Himself, to keep them separate from the world, and to teach them to pray as they never prayed before. Our safety is not in calling down plagues upon others, but in having a living, loving, lasting union with Christ. Between the true believer and Christ there is a living union, a loving union, and a lasting union, and by that union He brings us safely through all the temptations and terrors of life.

Therefore our prayer for you is not that God would pour out upon your neighbors and fellow workers a sea of blood, but that He would do these things:

We pray that the Lord would be your shield and defender in that avenue and in that workplace, that He would restrain every evil tongue and every work of darkness, and render powerless every charm and occult practice against you. We pray that He would give you grace to overcome evil with good, to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to bless those who curse you.

We pray that those who practice what is contrary to God's design, whether in impurity or in deceit or in the invocation of spirits, may come under holy conviction, that they may hear the whisper, There is forgiveness, and turn from their sin to seek pardon through the precious blood of Christ, finding a new heart and a new spirit within them.

We pray that you yourself may know more deeply the forgiveness that is with God through Christ, for when sin is pardoned the fear of God is put into the heart, and that holy fear keeps the soul from departing from Him. If you tremble and desire forgiveness and cleansing, come anew to Christ who not only forgave at the first all your sins, but continues daily to forgive, and whose forgiveness is full and eternal.

May the Lord keep you in that living, loving, lasting union with His Son, make you steadfast under trial, and cause His light to shine through you where you dwell and where you labor, so that others may see and fear Him and find the same forgiveness you have found.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. We have heard your cry about the conflict you are facing in your neighborhood and at your workplace, and the fear and anger you feel because of witchcraft, occult practices, theft and hostility around you. We take your distress seriously and we want to stand with you in prayer, but we must also speak the truth to you in love about how Christ calls us to pray.

Scripture commands us to let every prayer be accompanied with thanksgiving and to pray for our neighbors, not only for the faithful but also for the unbelieving and even for our enemies. The Lord Jesus said to pray for those who persecute you and to forgive as God in Christ forgave us. When we use our mouths to ask God to plague, kill, and shed the blood of other people until it is like an ocean, or to burn them to ashes, we are not praying as disciples of Christ. Such words do not harm our enemies so much as they harm ourselves. The mouth that has been given the grace to pray and to partake of holy things should not also pour out curses, for cursing and praying are far apart. Scripture warns that revilers shall not inherit the kingdom of God, and that if we do not forgive, we will not be forgiven. If we ask God not to forgive others, how then can we hope to be forgiven ourselves. Our prayers offered with a polluted mouth in this way cannot be accepted.

This does not mean that God overlooks sin. He does not. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and He calls every person to repent and to trust in Him. His design for human sexuality is clear in Scripture. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy belongs only within that marriage. Practices outside of that, including masturbation with sex toys, homosexual acts, and transexuality, are contrary to that design and are not to be affirmed or celebrated or asked to be blessed. They are sins from which Christ came to save us, and like all sin, including occult practice, witchcraft, robbery and deceit, they require repentance and faith in Christ for forgiveness. God loves to show mercy to all who turn to Him.

We also understand your reference to the plagues of Egypt and the prayers for judgment, but vengeance belongs to the Lord. Christ has sat down at the right hand of God, expecting until His enemies are put under His feet. He will bring perfect justice in His time and in His way, not through our curses. God permitted His own people to suffer persecution at times and used even that for His purposes, and He calls us to be meek, merciful, and peacemaking, to bless when we are persecuted and to overcome evil with good.

So we will not join you in praying for twelve scourges or for the death of those you have named in your neighborhood and workplace. Instead, with kindness and a tender heart, we will pray with you in the way Christ commands.

We will pray that God would protect you and your family from all occult harm and keep you safe in your neighborhood and at work, that He would deliver you from fear and give you peace and wisdom. We will pray that He would convict those who practice witchcraft and occultism and those who live in sexual sin and dishonesty, and bring them to repentance and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. We will pray that He would turn hearts of hostility to reconciliation, that He would establish justice and restrain evil without requiring you to carry hatred, and that He would help you to forgive as you have been forgiven, so that your prayers may be offered with a pure and thankful heart.

If you are in danger, please also seek wise and lawful help from your pastors and local authorities. Stay close to the fellowship of believers, keep praying with thanksgiving, and walk in love as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us.
