We hear the distress in your request and we stand with you in prayer for God's protection over your life in your new neighborhood, over your family, and over your workplace where you are facing opposition and occult practices, and we understand that feeling surrounded by evil tongues and witchcraft can cause deep anguish and a desire for God to act swiftly and powerfully.
We must lovingly rebuke and correct the way this warfare has been framed, because while we affirm that witchcraft, sorcery, and all occult practice are sin and an abomination before God, and while we affirm that sexual immorality including masturbation, fornication, homosexuality and transsexuality are against God's created order and moral will, we cannot join you in praying for people to be killed, for their blood to be shed like an ocean, or for them to be plagued to death and reduced to ashes. Such a prayer seeks personal vengeance and bloodshed, which God forbids for us to seek. Scripture is clear, Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, and Deuteronomy 32:35 says Vengeance is mine, and recompense. Even when you cite Exodus 22:18, 1 Samuel 2:6, Exodus 7:14-12:30, Psalm 35, Psalm 94, Joshua 11:11 and 2 Chronicles 20:22-25, we must remember that God alone is sovereign over life and death, 1 Samuel 2:6 says Yahweh kills, and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol, and brings up, and the plagues on Egypt and the battles of Israel were God's direct, sovereign judgments through His chosen nation under the old covenant, not a model for us to call down personal curses or death upon our neighbors, family members or coworkers. Under the new covenant we are commanded to approach spiritual warfare differently.
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. The people who oppose you, gossip about you, or practice evil are not to be prayed against unto death, but the demonic powers behind those sins are to be resisted in Jesus' name, and the people themselves are to be prayed for that they might repent. The Lord does not delight in the death of the wicked, Ezekiel 33:11 says As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live, and 1 Timothy 2:4 says God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. Our calling is to obey Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, and Luke 6:27-28.
We also want to address the sexual sins you mentioned. The Bible teaches that any sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman is sin, including fornication, adultery, homosexuality and all forms of sexual perversion, and that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 warns that neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals will inherit God’s Kingdom unless they repent. Romans 1:26-27 also speaks clearly about God giving people over when they exchange natural relations for those contrary to nature. These are serious sins that need repentance, but our prayer should be for conviction, deliverance and salvation, not for people to be burned to dust without hope. The same is true for those involved in robbery and scamming, God calls them to repent and be transformed.
We also notice you closed with IJMN, In Jesus Mighty Name, and we want to gently remind you of the precious truth that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not fully trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, Romans 10:9, and you will be saved. It is by that same name and His blood that we have authority to resist the devil.
So we will pray not for the destruction of people, but for your protection, for the breaking of every witchcraft and curse, and for the repentance or removal of those who persist in evil, leaving justice in God's hands.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that You are our refuge and fortress. We ask You to cover our dear one with the blood of Jesus and surround his home, his family and his workplace with Your holy angels. We pray Psalm 91:1-2 over him, that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We resist every demonic assignment, every evil tongue, every word curse, every occult work and every marine and sexual spirit that has been sent against him, and we declare James 4:7 Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We pray that every trap of witchcraft and sorcery would be broken and made powerless, for 1 John 4:4 says greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, and 2 Corinthians 10:4 says the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds.
Lord, we ask You to convict those in the neighborhood, family and workplace who are walking in darkness, in gossip, in occultism, in theft and in sexual immorality, that they would see their sin and turn to Jesus for forgiveness and deliverance. For those who refuse to repent and continue to do harm, we ask that You in Your perfect justice would restrain their evil, silence their lying tongues according to Psalm 35 and Psalm 94, and remove their influence from his life, but we leave vengeance to You. Teach him to bless those who curse him, to walk in holiness, to put on the whole armor of God described in Ephesians 6:10-18, and to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21. Fill him with peace, give him favor in his new neighborhood and at work, and let his life be a testimony of Your light that no darkness can overcome. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and defender, amen.
