We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the nations embroiled in conflict—particularly ### and the ###—and all those caught in the crossfire of war. The suffering of soldiers, the grief of families who have lost loved ones, and the torment of those living in fear weigh deeply upon us. We acknowledge that the death of leaders and the chaos that follows can leave people feeling helpless, but we declare with certainty that **God is in control**. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 46:9-10, *"He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear apart. He burns the chariots in the fire. ‘Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.’"* Even in the midst of turmoil, the Lord reigns supreme, and His purposes will prevail.
We pray for peace—not the fragile, temporary peace of man, but the deep, abiding peace that only comes from the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. In John 14:27, He tells us, *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."* We ask that You would move in the hearts of leaders and nations, softening them toward reconciliation and wisdom. Let Your Spirit restrain the hands of those who seek destruction and stir the hearts of those who desire justice and mercy.
For the soldiers on all sides of this conflict, we pray for protection over their lives. Shield them from harm, both physical and spiritual, and surround them with Your angels. Comfort those who are wounded, and bring healing to their bodies and minds. For the families who mourn the loss of their loved ones, we ask for Your presence to be a tangible embrace around them. In Psalm 34:18, You promise, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* May they feel Your nearness in their darkest hours, and may You provide for the fatherless, widows, and orphans who are left vulnerable by war. Open doors of refuge and shelter for them, Lord, and let them experience Your provision in miraculous ways.
We also lift up the refugees and displaced families who have been forced from their homes. You are the God who sees, and we trust that You will not abandon them. In Deuteronomy 10:18, You declare, *"He does execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the foreigner in giving him food and clothing."* Provide for their every need, Lord—food, shelter, safety, and most importantly, the hope that comes from knowing You.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of division, hatred, and violence that seeks to tear nations apart. We stand against the enemy’s schemes to steal, kill, and destroy, and we declare that no weapon formed against Your people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for revival in the hearts of those who do not know You, that they would turn to Jesus Christ, the only source of true peace and salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we ask that You would draw many to Yourself in this time of upheaval.
We also ask for forgiveness—for the ways in which we, as individuals and nations, have contributed to strife through our own sin, pride, and selfishness. Cleanse us, Lord, and help us to be peacemakers, as Your Word commands in Matthew 5:9, *"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."*
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. We declare that Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May Your glory be revealed in the midst of this storm, and may Your people arise as beacons of hope and love. Amen.
