Want To Share A Nice Coincidence

Today I went to the supermarket and a man came to me saying: "I recognize you, about 20 years ago you gave me a bible, and I now read it daily!"

I had not recognized him. He was a young man in his twenties when I had last met him. He does not live in my town anymore but somewhere else. He had just come by to visit his parents in my town and he happened to do some shopping for them and that's why he was in that same supermarket, normally he never comes there.

When I had met him 20 years ago he was in much distress because his fiancee had died because she had taken an overdose of slimming pills (which she did not need at all, because she was slim girl already) - unless it was a different kind of pills I do not know. I had done my best to talk about the Lord to him (and also to this girl that I have known too), probably I have prayed with him, I do not remember. I also had forgotten I had given him a bible. And he says I had written something for him in the bible.

He says that he had put that bible on the shelf and has lived his life without it - until a moment that many difficulties and serious health problems started coming. Now he daily reads the bible and it has become his comfort and strength.

It was so nice that the Lord brought about this coincidence to learn that a simple thing of giving someone a bible can one day bear fruit, even if it is not immediately. I thank the Lord for this today!

I hate to rain on your parade, Angeline, but this was NO coincidence. God carefully orchestrated all of it, especially for you. I praise Him for using this special time of Christmas celebration, to remind You of how a simple gift ( a bible, a baby born in a manger ) can impact a world. I praise Him for using the gift that You freely and willingly gave to bring a new sense of comfort and stability to someone who was struggling. That in all those years, he never threw out the bible, and it was right there when he needed it most because God led you to give it to him in that time and place. I find it a wonderfully warm reminder of God's promises in the bible about working all things together for good - about what we do for the least of these we do for Him. Thank You for sharing this amazing testimony of your God-moment. He looks upon You with favor and will use you again and again. Praise His holy name. Praying in the name of His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, I stand in awe of a God who is so loving and kind. Amen!!
