WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH

Walking after the flesh, simply put, is to prioritize man's (natural) desires over God’s (Spiritual) will. To prioritize anything over God is idolatry. I've said before many times:

GOD FIRST

I'm not forcing my opinion on anyone. I'm relaying the Word of God to those who have ears to hear. Just because you invoke your "God given free will," in choosing not to believe, doesn’t keep God from being whom He created Himself to be: "I AM, THAT I AM." When you sincerely put God first, not just in performance or manipulation (God-in-the-box, or Santa God) to get what you want, but because He is worthy to be prioritized, He will simply add to you the desires of your heart. He keeps His promises.

Romans 8 (AMP)

¹Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. ²For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. ³For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice], ⁴so that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]. ⁵For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit. ⁶Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. ⁷[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God 's Law; indeed it cannot. ⁸So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

You can walk all day, everyday, for three years, but if your walking is not in Christ, it is ultimately futile. We do not seek to control the Holy Spirit; but rather, we accept God's free gift, through Christ Jesus, allowing the Holy Spirit to control us. Hence...

IN CHRIST

Therefore, those who are in Christ walk according to the precepts of the Holy Ghost, not according lust after worldly goods. For those who are reborn of the Spirit, fix their minds, firstly, on things that are pleasing to God (rooted in honor). The natural man's mind is conformed to the lust of the flesh; his mind is fixed on self gratification (rooted in greed).

Therefore, if your walking is not in Christ, you're condemning yourselves.

1 Corinthians 10:14 (MSG)

So, my very dear friends, when you see people reducing God to something they can use or control, get out of their company as fast as you can.

Don't get it twisted, just because the servant of God is hindered, due to man's deeds, doesn't mean "The Word of God" is bound by man's deeds.

Once again, hair is not "the covering," it is symbolic of the covering of the Holy Spirit. Let us not represent God's gracious symbolism over youthful (immature) lusts.
