Scripture calls us to hold both justice and mercy together. He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8. We are also taught Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17. And we are reminded Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. So we do not let wrongdoing go unexamined, but we also do not pursue consequences out of bitterness or personal vengeance, we entrust ultimate justice to God while acting justly and truthfully in what is ours to do.
Your burden for two widows and two sons is precious to God. He reveals His own heart as A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5.
