Vision

Beloved of All
Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish:..." Please pray that I receive visions from God in Jesus' name, so that I don't just follow my own personal goals.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you do not change like shifting shadows. You fulfil the visions you give us. Hallelujah!

It is written „Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
In Jesus' mighty and powerful name, amen.

We hear your heart’s cry for divine direction, and we stand with you in seeking God’s vision rather than relying solely on your own understanding. The scripture you referenced in Proverbs 29:18 is a powerful reminder that without God’s revelation, we can easily wander into paths that lead to destruction. "Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he who keeps the law is blessed." This verse underscores the importance of aligning our lives with God’s Word and His will, for His law is the foundation of true vision.

The quote you shared from James 1:17 is a beautiful truth: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." Indeed, God is faithful to reveal His plans to those who seek Him with a sincere heart. However, we must also remember that visions from God are not given for our own glory or selfish ambitions but to fulfill His purposes and bring Him honor. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." His visions for us are always rooted in love, wisdom, and His perfect will.

We must also address the importance of seeking God’s vision with a heart that is fully surrendered to Him. Visions from the Lord are not merely about seeing the future but about walking in obedience to His Word. If our lives are not aligned with His commands, we may struggle to discern His voice clearly. As Jesus said in John 10:27, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." To hear His voice, we must be His sheep, those who follow Him wholeheartedly.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would open their spiritual eyes to see the vision You have for their life. Lord, we know that Your plans are perfect, and Your ways are higher than ours. We ask that You would remove any distractions, fears, or doubts that may hinder them from receiving Your revelation. Give them a heart that is fully surrendered to You, a mind that is fixed on Your Word, and a spirit that is sensitive to Your leading.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of confusion or deception that may try to cloud their understanding. We declare that Your Holy Spirit is their guide, and we ask that You would speak to them clearly, whether through dreams, visions, Your Word, or the counsel of godly believers. Help them to discern Your voice above all others and to walk in obedience to Your will. May they not lean on their own understanding but trust in You with all their heart, as Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs.

Lord, we also pray that You would purify their motives. Let their desire for vision be rooted in a hunger to know You more and to fulfill the purpose You have for them. Protect them from seeking visions for selfish gain or prideful ambition. Instead, fill them with a passion to glorify You in all they do. May they be a light in this world, pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who speaks and reveals Yourself to Your children. We trust that as they seek You with all their heart, they will find You, and Your vision for their life will become clear. Strengthen them in faith, fill them with Your peace, and lead them step by step into the future You have prepared. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. Remember, God’s vision for you is not just about what you will do but about who you are becoming in Christ. Walk closely with Him, and He will direct your steps. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today, for it is only through Him that we can know God and receive His vision for our lives. As Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Trust in Jesus, and He will guide you into all truth.

We hear the humility in what you shared, wanting what God wants more than just your own plans. That desire itself is a good place to start, and we are glad to stand with you in it.

One thought that may help as you pray about vision is how different God's vision is from our own ideas about the future. Our own ideas can be like a fantasy, a quick or magical answer we hope will fix things. The vision God gives is steadier than that. It is a sense of His calling that begins to shape daily choices and gives a hunger for what is above rather than just what is below. It grows as we stay close to Him, not all at once, and it is tested over time in ordinary faithfulness.

A simple next step that has helped many is to keep a regular, unhurried time to listen. Bring your request before the Lord, sit quietly, and write down what you sense. Then bring what you write to Scripture and to a mature believer you trust who knows you well, to help weigh what is of God and what is just your own thought. That kind of patient testing often brings clarity without pressure.

Father, we thank You for this heart that wants to follow You. Give wisdom and quiet confidence, and form a clear sense of Your calling day by day. Keep this one close to You, guard from confusion, and lead in Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing not to follow your own personal goals but to be led of the Lord is itself a token of grace wrought in the heart, for naturally we do not like being guided and prefer our own course.

The text you quote is precious, Where there is no vision, the people perish, and that vision is not a fleeting dream of our own imagination but the revelation of God, His Word, His counsel. Give me but a Word out of God's mouth and I can live upon it. We who now have the Scriptures have that sure vision, for Paul being inspired was able to write fresh revelations of the mind of God, and we are to be guided by the general directions given in God's Word. There we find great principles infused into the soul, to avoid everything that is evil and to bow with submission to the will of God, and by that very acquiescence we are furnished with unerring guidance.

You ask for visions, and I would pray with you not for any new revelation beyond what God has spoken, but for illuminated sight to read His work and to understand His counsel. David tells us, O God, You have taught me from my youth, and until this time have I declared Your wondrous works. He was God's pupil in the school of affliction and of mercy, made to observe object lessons until he learned to wonder at God's wondrous work. So may you be kept as God's pupil, taught day by day, chastened but never cast out, learning to trace His hand in everything.

Remember also that the great divine sea of His purpose is still moving on. No purpose of His can be restrained, He knew everything from the beginning and has never altered a single line of the divine purpose, and yet this is the miracle of miracles, that the creatures are free, absolutely free, and yet the divine purpose stands. Your life is not left to chance or to your own poor planning. Every good gift and every perfect gift cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. He does not change like shifting shadows, and He fulfils what He reveals.

Therefore let us pray that you may be guided with His counsel and afterward received to glory, for on earth there is no true glory for any man who takes his own course.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unchanging counsel and for Your Word which is a lamp unto our feet. Grant to this soul not the vanity of personal ambition, but a clear sight of Christ and of Your will as revealed in Scripture. Anoint the eyes to see wondrous things out of Your law, subdue obstinacy and haste, and give a heart that bows to Your sovereign purpose. Teach as You have taught Your pupils from youth, and cause Your wondrous works to be declared with pen and voice. Fulfil in Your own time and way the good purpose You have ordained, and keep this one guided by Your counsel till You receive him to glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, whose blood cleanses from all sin and in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your heart and your desire to follow the Lord rather than your own plans. We have prayed for you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking God to give you clear sight of His will and grace to walk in it.

You quoted Proverbs 29:18, where it says where there is no vision the people perish. In that verse the word vision does not mean personal goals or ambitions, but the revealed word and guidance of God. When His word is not heard and obeyed, people wander without restraint. What you are asking for is right in its aim, to be led by God and not by yourself.

Scripture teaches that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, and that He has made His will known to us most clearly in His Son and in the Scriptures. There are times in the history of our faith when God gave outward and sensible visions, especially at the beginning of great spiritual work, for the sake of those who needed to see with their eyes what could not yet be grasped by faith alone. Once God has spoken and His truth has been declared, we are called to receive it by faith and to live by it, even when no outward sign appears.

So we have prayed that God will give you that kind of true vision, a deeper understanding of His word, wisdom to discern His ways, and a heart that loves what He loves. We asked that He would guard you from simply following personal goals, and instead shape your desires according to His purpose and grace, which He determined in Christ before time began. We prayed that the Holy Spirit would open the eyes of your understanding, that you would know His calling and walk in obedience, and that you would find your direction not in fleeting impressions but in the steady light of Scripture, prayer, and faithful counsel.

May the Lord who does not change fulfill what He has promised, keep you in Christ, and lead you step by step in the path that honors Him. We trust Him to guide you as you seek Him with a sincere heart.

In Jesus mighty and powerful name, amen.

Thank you for sharing your honest desire to follow the Lord and not simply your own plans. That hunger to be led by God is something He honors, and it is good that you want His direction above personal ambition.

The verse you mentioned is often understood to mean personal pictures or mystical experiences, but in its context it speaks of God's revealed Word and prophetic guidance. Where there is no revelation from God, no speaking and hearing of His truth, people cast off restraint and wander without direction. The need is not primarily for a private vision, but for hearing and heeding what God has already spoken. That is why the Scriptures are so vital. Many people have never truly read or understood the Bible, which is a great loss, because it is God's sure Word and it does not return empty. As you give yourself to it, it brings greater joy in walking with Jesus and real power over sin.

God created you with a divine and eternal purpose, to know Him and to have fellowship with Him. That was His intent from the beginning. What breaks that fellowship is sin, as the prophet Isaiah said, your sins have separated you from God. But God in His love made a way through Jesus Christ to restore that fellowship. As His love is perfected in you, self life becomes less and Christ becomes more, and you learn to walk as Jesus walked, following His example.

You quoted the truth that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. He does not change, and what He purposes He fulfills. His will for your life is the very best that could happen to you, better than any plan you could make for yourself. The purpose of prayer is not to get God to accomplish your will, but to bring your heart into alignment so that His will is done. There are times when we do not know how to pray as we ought or what to ask for, and in those moments the Holy Spirit helps us, interceding and guiding us. Even when we do not understand His ways, we can cling to what we do know, that for those who love God all things are working together for good, as He conforms us to the image of Jesus Christ.

The Bible does speak of visions and dreams. A dream comes while a person is asleep, a vision comes while a person is awake and conscious, yet in both God can allow someone to see things beyond the present moment, even things that will happen in the future, because with God there is no limitation of time or space. We see this with Daniel and others who were shown things to come. God is certainly able to give such revelation if He chooses, and we can be open to whatever He wishes to do, but we are not to seek an experience above seeking Him and His Word. The safest and most certain way to know His direction is to be grounded in Scripture, spoken with conviction and authority as the Word of God, and to walk in daily fellowship and obedience.

My prayer for you is that the Lord will deepen your fellowship with Him, that you will grow in the knowledge of His Word and hear His voice clearly through it, and that His Spirit will guide you into His perfect will. May He give you wisdom to discern His best, grace to turn from anything that hinders fellowship with Him, and faith to trust Him even when you do not see the whole path. May He conform you more and more to the image of Christ and use your life as an instrument for His purposes, and may you experience His joy and His peace that passes understanding as you follow Him.

In Jesus name we ask that the Father will lead you step by step, keep you close to Himself, and fulfill the good purpose for which He created you. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer concerning your desire to receive visions from God according to Prov 29:18 so that you do not just follow your own personal goals but follow His perfect will for your life.

We have continued to pray that the Lord will grant you clear vision and divine direction and that He will reveal His purpose to you. We take comfort in James 1:17 that every good and perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning and we trust Him to fulfill the vision He gives.

We pray in Jesus name that God will pour out vision upon you and guide your steps and draw you closer to Him as you seek Him.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
