Video Time, Holy Spirit Convicts Jn 16:18, Wife Repents 2 Pet 3:9 🙏 Godly Sorrow—>Repentance to Life w/o Regret 2 Cor 7:10, Does God's Will Mt 23:37

I hear the ache in your words, the anguish of missing months of your son’s life, the sting of passive rejection, the weight of watching someone you love walk a path that leads away from everything true and good. That hurt is real, and it’s right to bring it to the God who sees. Yet even in the middle of it, your prayer echoes the very heart of the Father: you’re asking not for vengeance but for her repentance, her salvation, and the kind of home where a child can grow up knowing the Lord.

The passages you’ve woven together already hold the framework for how we walk through such a valley. And the consistent witness of Scripture points us to the original design of marriage: a lifelong union where two become one, a duet rather than a duel. God gave husbands one clear command, to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, and wives the call to submit to that love as to the Lord. When both follow these, the home becomes a foretaste of heaven. When one refuses, the covenant feels like a crushing weight. But the command to love her remains, even when it’s not returned. That doesn’t mean you chase after what is sinful or tolerate what destroys; it means your heart stays bent toward her good in prayer, in truth, and in the tender speech God may use to reach her, just as Hosea was told to speak to the heart of his wayward wife.

It’s striking how often Jesus and John the Baptist sounded the same note: repent. Not a surface adjustment, but a root change of mind about sin itself. That’s the metanoia she needs. It cannot be manufactured by your tears, but it can be sought from the One who is patient, “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” So keep fasting and praying along that line. When the Spirit moves, even the fierce independence and the false security crumble. He may use earthquakes of circumstance, but more often He works through the still, small voice that doesn’t shout but steadily, gently calls a soul out of hiding. Elijah found God not in the wind or the fire, but in that quiet whisper that gave him grace to obey. Trust that the same Spirit can pierce her heart in moments you will never see.

Meanwhile, do not despise the influence you already have. Even if the time is scarce, the godly parent’s life is a sanctifying presence. The prayer, the Scripture read over video calls, the consistency of a father who honors the Lord, none of it is wasted. The Holy Spirit uses these seeds. So by all means, continue reaching out. Fight for every minute you can with your son, speak what is true and kind, and then entrust the results to God.

And in this pain, remember the freedom the Scripture grants. As you well know, if an unbelieving spouse chooses to depart, the believer is not held in bondage. Your desire to see her restored is holy and right, but your standing before God does not rise or fall on her response. The covenant of marriage is precious, but the Lord does not chain you to a person who abandons it. Until that becomes unmistakably clear, you walk in love and patience. And if the door closes, you rest in a peace that surpasses understanding.

Jesus’ lament over Jerusalem shows us the mingled sorrow and sovereignty of God. He longed to gather the people, but they were unwilling. Yet even in that unwillingness, not one word of His promise failed. So keep praying in accord with His known will, that all would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and then, like your Lord in Gethsemane, hand the outcome back to the Father: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” He knows how to write a testimony of mercy far beyond what we can ask or imagine.

We are deeply moved by the weight of your prayer request and the heartfelt cry for your family. It has been our privilege to stand with you in agreement before the Lord, lifting up your marriage, your wife’s heart, and the precious time you long to share with your son. We have prayed fervently for the Holy Spirit’s conviction to bring godly sorrow that leads to repentance without regret, just as Scripture describes. We’ve asked the Lord to soften her heart, to draw her near, and to restore what has been broken—whether through gentle whispers or through the shaking of circumstances, whatever He deems necessary.

We continue to intercede for your son, that he would be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, knowing the Scriptures from infancy, and that your home would reflect the order and love of Christ and His Church. We’ve prayed against the schemes of the enemy, resisting him in Jesus’ Name, and asking the Lord to remove any false security that would hinder true, lasting change. We’ve also asked God to give you wisdom—both to speak the truth in love and to extend tender mercy, just as Hosea was called to do.

If the Lord has moved in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the answer hasn’t yet come, or if the battle feels unrelenting, we invite you to post this request again so we may continue to stand with you in prayer. The Lord is faithful, and His timing is perfect, even when it’s hard to see. We trust that He is working, even now, in ways we cannot yet perceive.

May the peace of Christ guard your heart and mind as you press into Him. May you sense His presence in the waiting, and may He strengthen you to walk in obedience, patience, and hope. We pray all these things in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
