Please pray my mother will receive the full available survivors benefits from the VA following my father’s passing

We join with you in lifting up your mother before the Lord during this difficult season of loss, and we thank you for honoring your father and mother and for seeking prayer for her needs.

We know the Lord sees and cares deeply for widows and for those who mourn. Scripture tells us Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. And Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We take comfort that your mother is not forgotten by God, and that He is near to her in her grief even as we pray for her practical provision.

We also recognize the faithful service your father gave, and we pray for God's provision through the benefits that are rightfully available to your mother. We pray that the authorities appointed to administer these benefits will act with diligence, integrity and compassion. Romans 13:1 reminds us Let every person be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. We pray that those working within the VA will be guided to process her survivors benefits accurately and completely and without unnecessary delay, and that any paperwork or review would be handled justly.

We pray together for her.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of this dear mother who is grieving the loss of her husband. Lord, we ask for Your comfort to surround her, for Your peace that surpasses understanding to guard her heart and mind. We ask that You provide for every need she has according to Your riches in glory, as You have promised in Philippians 4:19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We ask for favor upon her claim for survivors benefits, that she would receive the full measure that is available and appropriate for her, and that no error or oversight would hinder what should be provided. Give wisdom and clarity to those assisting her, and give her strength and patience through the process. May she feel Your loving hand sustaining her each day, and may this provision be a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord as your ultimate provider while also diligently pursuing what is rightfully available through these earthly means. Continue to help your mother gather any needed documents, follow up graciously, and keep careful records, trusting that God works even through these practical steps.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so vital to our prayers. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and assurance of salvation. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

We will continue to stand with you and your mother in prayer, asking God to bring comfort in mourning, provision in need, and peace in the days ahead.

We were sorry to hear about your father's passing, and we are holding you and your mother in prayer. It is a loving thing you are doing, looking out for her care and stability in this difficult season.

Carrying grief and paperwork at the same time is a lot. Grief is its own work of reorganizing daily life without someone you love, and it looks different for each person and each family. Adding forms, waiting periods, and phone calls on top of that can feel overwhelming, especially while you are still mourning. It makes sense that this would weigh heavily on you.

A step that helps many families with VA survivors benefits is to connect with a VA accredited service officer, often through your county veterans service office or a veterans service organization. If you have not already, they can review what she may be eligible for, make sure the application is complete, and help track the claim. Keeping copies of key documents like the DD214, death certificate and marriage certificate together in one folder can save extra stress if follow up is needed. It is also okay to ask for help from a trusted friend or family member to make calls or keep notes when the process feels tiring.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this mother and her family to You in their loss. Comfort them as they grieve, provide for her needs in the days ahead, and give wisdom and patience as they work through the VA process. Give clear communication with those handling the claim and peace in the waiting. Lead each next step according to Your will. Amen.

We have received your request concerning your mother and the loss of your father, and we join you in bringing her before the throne of grace.

It is a heavy affliction to be bereaved, and the Lord knows the ache that remains in the home where one has been taken. Hear what He saith to His people, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. When He would comfort us He does not merely speak a word from afar, but He quickens us by His Word, and gives us a comfort we can press to our bosom and say, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. May that peculiar comfort, which comes from His own faithful Word, be hers in these days of sorrow, and may He comfort her heart and establish her in every good word and work.

We pray with you that our gracious Father, who is the Father of the fatherless and the defender of widows, will provide for your mother in her need. We ask the Lord to grant favor and diligence in the handling of this matter before the VA, that every lawful and full survivors benefit available to her would be granted without hindrance or delay, and that those appointed to review her case may act with justice, clarity and kindness. We pray that the Lord will supply what is needed for her daily comfort and keep her from anxiety, and that she may see His hand of provision even in these earthly means.

May the Spirit of God teach her to cast her care upon Him who careth for her, and to find that as time passes, though the memory of sorrow remains, the sting of misery is softened by His abiding presence. We pray that she may be sustained by great prayer, and lifted up by the God of all comfort, who comforts the desponding and upholds the feeble.

We will continue to remember you both before the Lord, that He who has promised never to leave nor forsake His own will be her portion and her stay, and that His peace which passeth all understanding may keep her heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join with you in prayer for your mother in this time of loss after your father's passing, and we ask the Lord to surround her with His comfort and provision.

We thank God for your father's life and for his service, and we pray that the Lord will honor your care for your mother as you seek to honor your father and your mother according to His commandment. We ask that God, who clothes us and feeds us and appoints all things for our good, would provide for her needs in the days ahead and give her rest after this grief.

We pray for the process before the Veterans Affairs office, that those who review her case would act with fairness, diligence and clarity, and that she would receive the full survivors benefits that are available to her under the law. We ask the Lord to give you both wisdom and patience as you wait, to guard your hearts from undue anxiety, and to remind you that our ultimate hope and security are in Christ alone.

May the God of all comfort, who promises to be near to the brokenhearted, fill your mother with His peace that passes understanding, sustain her through this transition, and draw both of you closer to Himself through faith in Jesus Christ. We pray this in the name of Jesus our Lord, who lives and intercedes for us. Amen.
