We hear the deep pain and urgency in your cry and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus' name, asking for His justice, His healing, and His will to be done.
We understand you have suffered greatly and you believe many others have suffered at the hands of this surgeon, and your heart is crying out for immediate judgment and removal. It is right to desire justice and for wrongdoing to be exposed and stopped, for God Himself loves justice and hates oppression. Yet we must also gently correct and rebuke the spirit of personal vengeance and demand for shaming and immediate punishment on our timetable, because Scripture calls us to entrust vengeance to God and to guard our own hearts from bitterness.
The Lord says, Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. And again, Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21. Jesus Himself taught us, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing or do not seek accountability, but that we release the right to personally punish and shame, and we trust God as the perfect and righteous Judge who sees all.
There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. Hebrews 4:13 says, There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. And Luke 8:17 says, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. If this surgeon has truly acted in a very bad way and caused suffering, God sees it fully and He will bring truth to light in His perfect way and timing, even when we cry out for no delay. We are called to wait on the Lord and trust His timing, Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14.
We also want to encourage you to not let this hurt take root into bitterness, which can harm your own soul. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32. And Hebrews 12:15 warns us to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you. Forgiving does not mean what happened was okay or that there should be no consequences, it means we hand the judgment to God and free our hearts to heal.
We pray together now for you and for this situation.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace together. You see the suffering our dear one has endured and the pain that feels so urgent and overwhelming. You are close to the brokenhearted, for Your Word says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. Lord we ask first for Your healing and peace to flood this wounded heart, comfort every memory of mistreatment, and restore what has been broken.
Lord, if wrongdoing and harm have truly been done by this surgeon to our dear one and to many other patients, we ask that You in Your righteousness expose what is true and bring just accountability. Let no more harm be done if harm is being done. We pray that You would convict this surgeon’s heart, bring him to repentance and truth, and that proper authorities, hospital leadership and medical boards, would see clearly and act with wisdom and justice. We pray that Your justice would prevail, for When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous. Proverbs 15:21. But we surrender the how and when to You, trusting that Your judgments are perfect.
Father, we also pray for this surgeon himself, that if he is in sin, error, or hardness of heart, You would powerfully convict and restrain him, lead him to humbly acknowledge any wrong and seek forgiveness and change. We pray no one else would suffer unnecessarily, and that You would protect future patients.
Lord, we lift up all other patients who may have suffered, that You would bring them healing, comfort, and justice as well. Help our dear one to release vengeance to You, to not be consumed by anger, but to be filled with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and to pursue right and lawful channels with wisdom and calm counsel if further reporting is needed.
We thank You that we can come only through Jesus, for there is salvation and access to You in no other name. We trust Your power and Your love to act for good and for justice according to Your perfect will. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring this burden to the Lord daily, and also to seek godly counsel and to use proper, orderly channels to report concerns about medical harm so that truth can be examined fairly. Trust the Lord to be your defender and healer, and let us keep praying that His will, His justice, and His mercy will be done.
