We hear the deep pain and anger in your cry for justice, and we stand with you before the throne of God, lifting this burden in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The Word of God tells us, "The LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him" (Isaiah 30:18). We do not take lightly the suffering you have endured, nor do we dismiss the wrongs committed against you. The Lord sees all, and He will not be mocked, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19).

However, beloved, we must also examine the spirit in which this plea is made. While God is just, He is also holy, and His justice is tempered by mercy. Your words carry a cry for retribution that borders on vengeance, and Scripture warns us: "Do not say, ‘I will repay evil’; wait for the LORD, and he will save you" (Proverbs 20:22). The desire for shame and ruin upon another must be surrendered to God, for He alone knows the full measure of justice required. We must also guard our hearts against bitterness, for "See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many" (Hebrews 12:15).

We rebuke the spirit of unforgiveness and the desire for personal vengeance in the name of Jesus. Instead, we pray for God’s perfect justice to prevail, whether through earthly consequences, repentance, or divine intervention. We also pray for your heart to be healed from the wounds inflicted upon you, that you may walk in the freedom Christ died to give you. "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has been wronged. Lord, You see every injustice, every lie, and every wound inflicted. We ask that You would move mightily on their behalf, bringing truth to light and justice to pass. Father, we pray for the one who has caused harm, that if they have not repented, You would bring them to their knees in conviction, not for our vengeance, but for Your glory and their salvation. Strip away any ungodly authority or influence they hold if it is Your will, but do so in a way that aligns with Your perfect righteousness.

Lord, we ask for full restoration, of finances, of peace, of dignity. You are the God who "executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry" (Psalm 146:7). We declare that no weapon formed against this child of God shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that "the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants" (Deuteronomy 32:36).

Father, we also pray for healing in this heart. Soften the places where bitterness has taken root, and replace anger with Your peace. Help them to release the burden of vengeance into Your hands, trusting that You will make all things right in Your time. Fill them with Your presence, Lord, and remind them that they are not alone, You are their defender, their provider, and their healer.

We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our injustices on the cross so that we might receive mercy and grace. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter, not just for justice, but for the healing of your soul. Consider fasting and prayer, and surround yourself with godly counsel, those who can help you process this pain in a way that aligns with Scripture. If there are legal avenues to pursue restitution, do so with wisdom and integrity, trusting God to guide your steps. Above all, guard your heart against the corrosive effects of bitterness, for it will only harm you further. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32).

You are not forgotten. The Lord hears your cry, and He will act. Wait on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).

We can hear the urgency in your words and the deep pain behind them. You’ve been wronged, and the anger and exhaustion you’re feeling are completely understandable. No one should have to endure what you’ve described, and wanting the situation to end is not wrong. We’re not here to lecture you about your feelings, they’re real, and they matter.

While we can’t pray for revenge, we absolutely can pray that God would bring true justice in His way and His perfect timing, and that He would protect you and anyone else who has been harmed. Sometimes the weight of the anger and the longing for someone to be punished can start to feel like a prison of its own. One thing that might help right now is to take a few moments to quietly name every specific way you’ve been hurt, write it down if that helps, and then deliberately place it in God’s hands, asking Him to carry the burden of justice so it doesn’t keep eating at your peace. You don’t have to do that perfectly, and you may need to do it more than once. It’s not letting the person off the hook; it’s handing the hook to the only Judge who sees everything and will act righteously.

Please know you’re not alone in this. We’re standing with you in prayer.

Lord, You see every detail of what has been done to this person. We ask You to intervene, to bring about justice and to make things right. Restore what was taken, guide the proper authorities if that’s part of Your plan, and give strong, clear wisdom for next steps. Most of all, hold this hurting heart, calm the turmoil, bring healing, and protect against bitterness taking root. In Jesus’ name we pray.

I also pray you find it in your heart to forgive this man because he may not know what he’s doing. He may not have the level of love you have and doesn’t know how’s he’s hurt you. The cry of a wounded spirit has reached the Lord’s ear, yet I must speak plainly to the temper of this request. You implore immediate punishment, arrest, and shame upon one who has sorely used you, and you plead for the recovery of your money as the token of victory. But what says the Scripture? “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Have you not considered that the greatest victory lies in overcoming the evil within your own heart, lest the enemy of your soul gain advantage by your bitterness? When trouble comes and the darkness settles, if you do not sin in the midst of it, you are more than a conqueror through Him that loved you. The arch-foe would have you fall to cursing and fierce demands, but Christ bids you pray for those who despitefully use you.

Search the Word and you shall find peace. The lover of God’s law stands in awe of it and rejoices over it, and great peace have they which love that law, and nothing shall offend them. If you make the Lord your portion, even the loss of goods may be borne without a stain upon your soul, even as holy Job, who in all his stripping did not sin nor charge God foolishly. It is the pleasure of the Lord to give His people the victory, but it is not always a triumph after the fashion of this world. The Son of God hath already bruised the serpent’s head, and all His members share in that conquest. Shall we then cry for the immediate ruin of some poor sinner, when we ourselves were once the objects of divine disapproval, not beloved, until grace found us? The same blood that cleanses us from all sin is able to wash the foulest offender and bring him to his knees in penitence rather than in judgment only.

I counsel you, let your prayer be purged of personal revenge. Bring your cause to the throne of grace, but ask rather that God’s righteous will be done, that the wrongdoer may be arrested by conviction of sin and brought to the cross of Christ. Your money is but dross compared to the jewel of a meek and quiet spirit. If it be the Lord’s will to restore it, He can do it without your fretting; if not, He is able to give you treasure in heaven. I will pray with you, but not as you have worded it:

O Lord God, before whom all hearts are open, look upon this afflicted one. Quiet the storm of indignation, and grant the spirit of Christ, who when He was reviled, reviled not again. Do justice, O God of the whole earth, in Thine own time and way, and if it be possible, lead this transgressor to repentance and faith in Jesus. Vindicate the oppressed according to Thy wisdom, and give back what has been taken if it be for Thy glory. But above all, work in this dear soul the victory over every hateful passion, and fill the heart with the peace that comes from loving Thy law. May this trial become a school wherein Thou dost teach the wonders of Thy grace, that the tongue which now cries for vengeance may yet declare Thy wondrous works. In Christ’s name we ask it. Amen.
