Beloved of All
Your urgent cry has been heard and I am joining you in prayer before the Lord. In Christ we are one body with many parts, and when one part suffers the whole body suffers with it. You are not carrying this burden alone. Your distress about your face, your skin, your eyes and your whole body is felt, and I am bringing it to the Lord with you.
God Himself designed the human body with marvelous care and He knows every need of it. He sees the scars, the marks, the hollows, the dryness and sensitivity, and every other concern you named and even those you could not name. Scripture shows that when Jesus walked among the sick, He healed their physical sufferings, and Matthew explains that this was to fulfill what Isaiah spoke, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is My body which is broken for you, He was pointing to the suffering He would endure so that healing would be provided, both spiritual and physical. Because of that, we can come boldly and ask for His healing touch upon your body, trusting His compassion and His power.
At the same time I want to gently remind you of who you are in God. You are not only a body. God made you as body, soul and spirit, and it is the spirit that makes you able to know Him and have fellowship with Him. Animals have a body and consciousness, but you have a spirit made to commune with God. The body will one day return to dust when the spirit moves on, which is why Jesus said not to fear those who can harm only the body, but to live for Him who holds both soul and spirit. When the body rules, the mind becomes occupied only with the needs and appearance of the body, what we shall eat, drink or wear, or how we look. The Lord wants to free you from being ruled by those drives and from being a slave to them.
Your body is not your own to carry alone. If you belong to Christ, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you, bought with a price. Scripture says the body is not for impurity but for the Lord, and we are called to yield the members of our body not as instruments of self focus or anxiety, but as servants to righteousness and holiness, and to glorify Christ in our body. That means placing your body, with all its hurts and hopes, into His hands and saying, Lord, take this body, dwell in it and use it for Your purposes. Sin shall not have dominion over you when you yield yourself to God in this way.
So I am praying for you now that the Lord in His mercy would touch your face, the skin under and above your eyes, both sides of your face, your neck and your whole body. I ask Him to bring healing to every scar, mark, dent, discoloration, dryness, sensitivity and allergy, to every eye irritation and to every area that causes you distress, and to grant relief so that you no longer feel bound to cover yourself or hide. I pray He will do this according to His perfect wisdom and love, whether through an immediate touch or through His ongoing restoring work, and that He will give you wisdom for any care you need.
I also pray for a deeper healing, that He would quiet the overwhelming anxiety that has filled your thoughts, and give you peace and joy that does not depend only on how your skin looks. May He lift the burden of constant self examination and let you know how deeply you are loved and valued as a vital part of His body, with a purpose that no other part can fill. May you know today that you are whole in Christ, that your life is meant to bring pleasure to Him, and that He is able to keep you and to glorify Himself in your body as you trust Him and offer yourself to Him.
