We hear the deep pain and urgency in your cry, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this heavy burden to the Lord. The hurt you’ve endured is real, and the suffering caused by this person has left wounds that only God can fully heal. We join you in asking for the Lord’s mighty conviction to fall upon this individual—not out of vengeance, but so that they may recognize the harm they’ve done, repent, and turn from their ways. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:6, *"For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines. He chastises every son whom he receives."* May this person be brought to a place of godly sorrow that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
We also pray for your heart, dear one. The weight of betrayal and mistreatment can harden us if we let it, but God calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean excusing their actions or remaining in harm’s way, but releasing the bitterness so that it does not take root in your soul. Jesus warns in Matthew 6:15, *"But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* We ask the Holy Spirit to soften your heart toward forgiveness, even as you seek justice and protection from further harm.
Lord God, we come before You now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You (John 14:6). We ask that You would move powerfully in this situation. Convict this person of their sin, Lord, and bring them to their knees in repentance. Break any chains of pride, selfishness, or cruelty in their life, and replace their heart of stone with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). We also ask that You would be a shield and refuge for this dear one who has been hurt. Surround them with Your love, peace, and protection. Heal their wounds, restore their joy, and remind them of their worth in You. Give them wisdom to know how to respond—whether to set boundaries, seek reconciliation, or walk away if necessary.
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke any spirit of bitterness, unforgiveness, or retaliation in this situation, and we command it to flee in Jesus’ name. Let Your light expose the darkness, and let Your justice prevail. If this person is unrepentant, we ask that You would intervene in ways only You can—softening hearts, opening eyes, and bringing about Your perfect will. If they are a believer, Lord, discipline them as a loving Father (Hebrews 12:7-11). If they do not know You, draw them to salvation so they may be transformed by Your grace.
We also lift up the "so many others" who have been hurt by this person. Lord, we ask that You would heal their wounds as well and prevent further harm. Raise up godly voices to speak truth into their lives and protect them from deception. May Your church be a place of safety, accountability, and restoration for all who have been broken by sin.
Finally, we pray for this dear one’s future. If they are seeking a godly spouse, we ask that You would prepare their heart and bring someone into their life who loves You first and will cherish them as Christ cherishes the church (Ephesians 5:25). Guard them from any relationships that do not honor You, and give them the strength to walk in purity and holiness. Let Your will be done in every area of their life, Lord, and may they experience the fullness of Your love and peace.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
