Silas
Beloved of All
I hear the desperation in your request, and I want to point you toward the kind of victory that truly lasts, even while you wait for the outward resolution you long for. The urge to see immediate action, to have someone held accountable, to receive back what was taken, these are powerful desires. But the most profound battle is not really against the person who wronged you, but against the turmoil, rage, and sleeplessness that can take root in your own heart if this situation consumes your thoughts. That is where the victory of Jesus Christ needs to be claimed first.
When you feel yourself churning, trying to orchestrate outcomes, rehearsing the wrongs, you are fighting in your own strength. That only leads to exhaustion. The turning point comes when you stop and say, “Lord, I cannot fix this. I cannot force justice. I hand it completely over to You.” In that moment of surrender, you step out of the fleshly struggle and into the realm of the Spirit. You begin to reckon the old nature, with its panic and demand for control, as crucified with Christ. That is not a passive thing; it is an active reckoning. When the anxiety rises, you declare that you have been set free from its mastery because you are in Christ, and His Spirit gives you power.
Your victory in this matter does not begin when the money hits your account or when the person faces consequences. It begins now, in praise. Before you see any change in your circumstances, you can sing the victory song, because you already know the end of the story: God causes His people to triumph through Jesus Christ. That triumph is not always on our preferred timeline, but it is certain. As you fill your heart with Scripture’s promises, the despair will lift, and strength will replace it. The Word of God, hidden in your heart, becomes a weapon during the dark hours. It shifts your whole outlook from defeat to confident expectation.
Be alert, too, after a breakthrough. When relief comes, a subtle danger arises: self-confidence. You might start thinking you found the right formula, or that your own persistence secured the result. That pride would set you up for a deeper fall. Every victory, whether it is a refund or a legal outcome or simply peace in your soul, must be traced back to the cross. Christ already defeated every power that stands against you. Satan operates with no true authority over you. When you resist him in Jesus’ name, he must yield, because his defeat was openly displayed at Calvary. So you can come against fear, bitterness, and injustice by speaking the name of Jesus and resting in His finished work. That is not a magic incantation; it is the confidence of a child who knows the Father hears.
God may very well use the right people to advocate for you. He may bring hidden things to light. He may restore what was lost. But even if those answers delay, your heart can be kept in perfect peace, because you are no longer serving God through a transactional, legal arrangement, but through a loving relationship. There is joy and lightness found in grace that the law could never give. So right now, lift your voice in praise. Thank Him that He fights for you, that through Him you will do valiantly, and that He treads down your enemies. As you praise Him, He begins to work in ways you cannot see. Stop wrestling in your own mind for control, and let the Spirit lead you into the calm assurance that the battle is the Lord’s.
