We have heard your very urgent cry and we join together with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name, bringing your deep distress about your skin and your desire for healing and restoration to Him.

We want to gently share some truth with you in love because we care about your heart as well as your body. You quoted the promise ask and you will receive, and it is true that our Lord invites us to ask. Jesus said, Ask, and it will be given you, Seek, and you will find, Knock, and it will be opened for you in Matthew 7:7. Yet Scripture also teaches us how to ask. This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us in 1 John 5:14. And James reminds us, You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures in James 4:3. God is not a vending machine for our immediate demands, but a loving Father who hears, who is sovereign, and who answers according to His perfect will, His perfect wisdom and His perfect timing, not always instantly and not always exactly as we dictate. To demand that God must act right now with no delay and make everything disappear permanently exactly as we prescribe can put us in the place of commanding God rather than humbly trusting Him.

We also hear great anxiety and fixation in your request on every mark, scar, line, spot and texture. We understand the desire to be healthy and to feel beautiful, and God does care about our suffering, but we want to encourage you to see how God sees you. Man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart in 1 Samuel 16:7. We read, Your beauty should not be of the outward adorning, but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God in 1 Peter 3:3-4. And we are reminded, I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well in Psalm 139:14. Your value before God is not measured by flawless skin, youthful glow, or perfect texture, but by being His beloved creation, made in His image and redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

That does not mean we should not pray for healing. We believe God is able to heal and restore, for He says, But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17, and By his wounds you are healed in Isaiah 53:5. We can and should bring our physical needs to Him, while also seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well in Matthew 6:33.

We also encourage you to care for your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit with wise stewardship, including gentle skin care, hydration, rest, nourishment, and seeking godly medical advice when needed, without making your appearance an idol that consumes your peace. We hear the torment and urgency in your words, and we want to pray also for your peace, for God invites us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:6-7.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We thank You that You know this dear one fully, every concern, every blemish and burden, and every anxious thought. We ask in Jesus' name that Your will be done in her body and in her skin. If it is Your will, we ask You to bring healing, restoration and relief to every skin concern she has named and even those she has not named, and to ease any discomfort, dryness, irritation or inflammation according to Your mercy. We ask You to guide her to wise and helpful care and to protect her health. Above all, we ask You to heal her heart from anxiety, to grant her Your peace that surpasses understanding, to help her to see herself as You see her, fearfully and wonderfully made, precious and loved. Help her to find her identity and confidence not in outward perfection but in Christ, and to trust Your timing and Your goodness even when answers are not instant. Teach her to seek You first, to rest in Your love, and to walk in gratitude and contentment while she waits on You. We ask that You would transform her from the inside out with a gentle and quiet spirit that is precious to You, and that Your name would be glorified in her life. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to God honestly, but also to surrender your desires into His loving hands, trusting that He hears and will answer in the way that is best for you. Keep seeking Him daily in His Word and in prayer, and consider sharing these deep anxieties with a trusted mature believer or pastor who can walk with you and pray with you regularly.

Your earnest and repeated cry has been heard, and we have brought your burden before the Lord with tenderness and care. We understand the deep distress you feel concerning your body, and how the many marks and infirmities you describe have become a heavy anxiety upon your spirit.

Hear, we pray you, a word of truth spoken in love. Our Lord teaches us that many persons think a great deal about the adorning of the body, but do not think as they ought about the ornaments of the soul. Yet you yourself are better than your body. Your immortal soul is worth far more than that poor frame which will soon pass away, and all that concerns your outward appearance is small compared with your inner self, your heart, your soul, your spirit before God. As for your body, it is a home for the soul for a little while, and we that are in this body do groan, being burdened, until the day of our full redemption.

We would also gently remind you that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To tell your trouble over and over to yourself, and to be consumed with care about it, brings no peace. It is right and good to tell the Lord, but we must tell Him with submission to His perfect will, not as though we could command Him. When our Lord said, ask and ye shall receive, He did not mean that God is bound to grant every particular as we dictate, but that He graciously hears and answers according to His infinite wisdom and love, giving what is best for us.

Know this, that there is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. When He walked upon the earth, the healing power was present when He was teaching, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. And His greatest healing is first for the soul. When Jesus healed the man taken with the palsy, He said first, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one in His hand. He bore our sins in His own body on the cross, and from that great conduit head abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.

Today the body is dead because of sin, though the spirit is life because of righteousness. The full regeneration of the body takes place at the resurrection, when we shall be raised in the image of the Lord Jesus, sown in weakness but raised in power. Until then, we are taught to seek first the cleansing and adornment of the soul, to be made holy in our desires and aspirations, and renewed after the image of His perfect self within us. Those faces which shall shine so bright and comely in heaven, fresher than newborn babes, owe their freshness to these healing leaves, to the blood and grace of Christ.

Therefore we pray for you in this way, and we invite you to pray thus with us.

O Lord, our heavenly Physician, look in pity upon this afflicted one. Thou who healest the broken in heart and bindest up their wounds, have mercy. Forgive sin, cleanse the soul, and adorn it with the graces of Thy Spirit, with meekness, patience, and quiet trust. If it be Thy gracious will, lay Thy hand also upon the body and bring relief and health according to Thy wisdom, for Thou knowest what is best. Deliver from tormenting anxiety, and grant a calm reliance upon Thy fatherly care. Help this dear soul to seek first Thy kingdom and righteousness, believing that all needful things shall be added. May there be a holy contentment in Thy will, and a joyful hope of that day when Thou shalt make all things new, and we shall be with Christ, which is far better. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope of salvation, Amen.

Cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Seek Him in His Word, hear Him believingly and obediently, and let your chief adornment be a heart at peace with God through faith in His Son.

Your prayer has been read with care, and the deep distress and urgency in your words has been heard. It is clear how much anxiety and weariness these concerns about your skin and appearance have brought you, and how earnestly you desire relief and rest. God sees this burden, and He invites you to bring your cares before Him.

The Lord does say, ask and you will receive, and He delights when His children come to Him in prayer. Yet His promise is not that every request as we phrase it will be granted at once and exactly as we ask, but that He will hear and answer according to His wisdom and love, giving what is truly good for us. As it has been taught, not our diligence alone, but the providence of God effects all things, and when He seems not to answer at once, it is not because He has forgotten us, but because He is working for the deeper health of both body and soul.

Much of your prayer speaks of fear and constant attention to the body, and this kind of anxiety can become a heavy slavery. Like those who toil without rest, we can be scourged by worry and trembling, always examining ourselves and never finding peace. If we will look up to God, He sends not only relief for the body but compunction and peace for the soul, to free us from that bitter and unprofitable slavery. God cares for the body, for He made it, and Christ showed His power by touching and healing bodies, sometimes at once and completely. Yet He also often allows infirmities to remain for a time, so that through the body the soul may be healed, and we may learn to seek what is eternal.

Scripture teaches that Christ is the image of the invisible God, and we are made to bear His image. Among us human art always fails to produce perfect likeness, but where God works there is no failure. True radiance and beauty before Him is not first of all a flawless outward appearance, but a heart made new and conformed to Christ. That does not mean your body does not matter to God. It does. He made your face, your skin, your whole frame, and He knows every mark and pain. He is able to heal, and we may rightly ask Him for healing and for relief from discomfort, dryness, and other troubles. But we ask humbly, trusting His will, saying with Christ, not my will but Yours be done.

So we will pray for you, not as a formula to demand glass skin without delay, but as children asking a wise and loving Father.

We pray that God will grant you peace from this consuming anxiety and fear, that He will lift the burden of constant self examination and give you rest in His care. We pray that He will heal what needs healing in your body according to His mercy, give wisdom to care for your body simply and healthfully as His creation, and above all renew your heart, that you may know yourself loved and valued because you belong to Christ. We pray that He will teach you to see your worth not in having absolutely no blemish, but in being His, and that He will make your face to shine with the quiet radiance of trust, health, and holiness. We ask that if it be His will, He will ease the irritations, dryness, and other afflictions you mention, and guide you to wise and patient care rather than endless striving. And we pray that you will grow in confidence that whether He heals at once, over time, or works through other means, He is with you and will not forsake you.

Continue to bring your requests to Him daily, but also ask Him for contentment, for freedom from the scourge of anxiety, and for grace to care for your soul first while stewarding your body with thankfulness. Stay close to His Word, to prayer, and to fellowship with other believers who can support you, and if these skin concerns cause ongoing distress or physical pain, seek wise medical counsel as part of God’s ordinary provision.

May the Lord grant you not only relief for your skin, but deep healing for your soul, and the settled assurance that you are fully known and loved in Christ.
