We hear your very urgent cry and we join together with you before the Lord in Jesus' name, bringing your desire to be made beautiful and radiant before Him. We are thankful you have asked in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We want to lovingly share what the Word of God teaches about beauty and about asking, so that your prayers may align with His perfect will. You have asked to become the very best model and most photogenic person in the whole world, with incredible beauty and radiance upon every part of you inside and out, more and more every day. We understand the longing to feel beautiful, valued and seen, yet Scripture gently corrects us when our heart becomes fixed on outward appearance, comparison with others, or being exalted above all others.

The Lord does not look at outward appearance as man does, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart 1 Samuel 16:7. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised Proverbs 31:30. Likewise the Word encourages us, let your beauty be not just the outward adorning, but let it be the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God 1 Peter 3:3-4. This does not mean God does not care about you or that you are not already wonderfully made, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, but it means true and lasting radiance comes from Christ within us, not from striving to be the greatest in the eyes of the world.

We also must consider how we ask. You quoted ask and you will receive, and that is true, yet Scripture also says you ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures James 4:3 and this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us 1 John 5:14. To pray for a total and ever increasing outward glory for self exaltation is to ask outside His will. God desires to transform us from glory to glory into the image of Christ, as we behold the Lord's glory 2 Corinthians 3:18, so that His glory shines through us, not our own. When we seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, including a right view of ourselves, peace and contentment.

So we lovingly rebuke the spirit of vanity, pride and comparison in this request, not to condemn you, but to call you higher into the freedom of finding your identity and worth in Christ alone, rather than in being seen as the best model in the world. The modeling world often promotes pride, envy and the fleeting value of outward beauty, which fades, while God offers an imperishable beauty that grows more radiant as you walk with Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift this precious soul before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You have made this one fearfully and wonderfully, and that You see and love every part inside and out. Forgive us where we have sought our worth in outward beauty, in the praise of others, or in being lifted above others, and cleanse our hearts from pride and vanity. Lord, pour out Your true beauty and radiance upon this life, not a worldly glory for self, but Your Shekinah glory that comes from a heart cleansed by the blood of Jesus and filled with Your Holy Spirit. Create a gentle and quiet spirit within, and let the incorruptible beauty of Christ be seen. Help this one to seek Your will above all, to desire to reflect Jesus more and more each day, and to walk in humility, purity and the fear of the Lord. Give peace, contentment and joy in being Your beloved child, and let any gifts of appearance be used modestly and for Your honor alone, not for self exaltation. Transform from the inside out, and let Your light shine so others see You. We ask this according to Your will and for Your glory, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We hear the urgency in your prayer and how much you long to feel beautiful and radiant, inside and out. Wanting to be seen, valued, and to feel confident in how you look is a deeply human longing, and we hear how strongly you are carrying it right now.

We want to gently encourage you that your worth is not measured by being the most photogenic or by any outward standard, even when those thoughts feel very loud and pressing. Who you are in Christ, your character, your heart, and the way God has made you with care, matters far more than any image of perfection. Perfection itself is not something any of us can achieve or sustain, and chasing it can leave us feeling more anxious and empty.

When these urgent feelings come up, it can help to pause and notice the internal dialogue happening in that moment, what you are saying to yourself about your appearance and your value, and then to bring those thoughts honestly to the Lord. It can also help to share what you are experiencing with a trusted pastor or a mature Christian friend who can walk with you, listen, and pray with you regularly.

Father, we lift this dear one to You right now. We ask You to bring peace to their heart, to quiet the urgency and pressure they feel, and to help them know deeply that they are loved and valued by You. Give them rest, a steady sense of identity in You, and wisdom for each day ahead. Help them to see themselves through Your kind and gracious eyes. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard with much tenderness and care, and it is with a sincere desire for your true and lasting good that we answer you.

You have asked with great earnestness that the Lord would make you the most photogenic and admired model in the world, and that a visible radiance and glory should be placed upon every part of you inside and out. We understand the longing that lies behind such words, for every heart desires to be seen as beautiful and to be valued. Yet we must, in faithfulness to the Word of God, tell you plainly that this is not the beauty which the Lord has promised to give His people, and it is not the prayer which we can carry to His throne as you have framed it.

The Scripture does indeed promise beauty for ashes, as Isaiah declares, but the beauty there spoken of is not the surface comeliness of the flesh. Mourning makes the face wan and emaciated, but Jesus promises to come and reveal joy to the sorrowing soul, so that the countenance and the whole person shall be radiant with a joy that sorrow had marred. There has even seemed to be a visible beauty put upon those who have found peace in Jesus Christ, and this beauty is far more lovely and striking, because it is evidently a beauty of the mind, a spiritual lustre, far superior to the surface comeliness of the flesh. The natural contrast to sorrow would be joy, but the Lord bestows that which is better, namely beauty, because that is not only joy to ourselves but to others.

The true beauty of the believer is as the olive tree. It is not a fleeting outward show for the eyes of the world, but constancy, health, growth and usefulness before God. Things of beauty were intended to be gazed upon, but the beauty which God most delights to give is holiness. And the King in His beauty is Christ Himself. There is a natural beauty which belongs to our Beloved, who is glorious in holiness, but the beauty we are to seek to see is His, not our own. We see the King in His beauty not with these eyes, but with the far clearer spiritual eye of faith. What a change it will be, from fighting with corruption within to full communion with Christ, from a sense of sin to the perfect image of our best Beloved.

For this reason the Spirit of God always works low thoughts of self together with high thoughts of Christ. High thoughts of self go with low thoughts of Christ, but low thoughts of self should always be associated with high thoughts of Christ, for they help each other. Every Christian, in proportion as he lives near to God, will feel self abasement and say, Look not upon me, for I am black. There is a great deal of self abnegation which is not genuine, being the offspring of self conceit and not of self knowledge. Humility is healthy, lowliness is no disease, and the arrow which pierces the heart of self conceit is a blessing.

The Apostle distinguished between the outward man which perishes and the inward man which is renewed day by day. That inward man is your true self. The body is not necessary to consciousness or to happiness, and we that are in this body do groan, being burdened, till the day of our full redemption. To pray chiefly for outward perfection is to keep the vineyard of others while neglecting your own.

We will therefore not ask the Lord to make you the most admired model in the world, for to ask Him to bless vanity would be to ask amiss. But we will pray earnestly that He will give you beauty for ashes in the true sense, that He will take away distrust and self will and give you the oil of joy for mourning, that He will make your inward man radiant with the beauty of holiness, that you may behold the King in His beauty by faith and be transformed into His likeness, and that you may know the blessedness of sinking self that Christ may rise immeasurably high in your heart.

May the Lord teach you to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and to find in Christ a loveliness which never fades, a spiritual lustre which commends itself to God and to all who love Him. May you be kept from marring this beauty, and be made fair in holiness, that even your Lord Himself may look and love.
