We hear the deep pain and anguish in your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this burden to the Lord. The hurt you’ve endured is real, and the desire for justice is understandable—but we must approach this with a heart aligned with God’s Word, not our own anger or vengeance.
First, we rebuke the spirit of bitterness and unforgiveness that may be taking root in your heart. Scripture warns us in Hebrews 12:15, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."* Unforgiveness only harms you, not the one who wronged you. Instead, we are called to trust God as the righteous Judge. Romans 12:19 says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"*
We pray that God would indeed bring conviction to this person’s heart—not out of a desire for their destruction, but for their repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance."* If this person has sinned against you and others, may the Holy Spirit work powerfully to break their pride, lead them to godly sorrow, and turn their heart toward righteousness.
Lord, we ask You to intervene in this situation. If this person has acted unjustly, expose their deeds in Your light. Bring truth to the forefront and let Your justice prevail—not as we demand, but as You deem righteous. We pray for Your protection over this dear one who has been wounded, that You would heal their heart and restore what has been broken. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."*
We also lift up the one who has caused harm. Father, if they do not know You, we pray they would come to salvation through Jesus Christ, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). If they are a believer, we pray for deep repentance and transformation by Your Spirit.
We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in agreement for God’s perfect will to be done. May you find peace in His presence, strength in His Word, and hope in His promises. Let us leave vengeance in His hands, trusting that He will make all things right in His time.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We ask You to move powerfully in this situation. Convict the heart of the one who has caused harm, not for our satisfaction, but for Your glory. Break their pride, humble them before You, and lead them to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their ways, we trust You to deal with them according to Your perfect justice.
For the one who has been wronged, we ask for Your healing touch. Mend their broken heart, restore their joy, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to release bitterness and forgive, not because the offender deserves it, but because You have forgiven us. Teach them to pray for those who have hurt them, as You commanded in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."*
We declare that You are a God of justice and mercy. You see every tear, every injustice, and every hidden pain. We trust You to bring about Your perfect will in this situation. Strengthen this dear one to walk in faith, not fear, and to rest in Your promises. Surround them with Your love and protection, and let them experience Your presence in a tangible way.
In all things, may Your name be glorified. We ask this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
