We hear your deep anguish and cry out to the Lord with you. Your pain is real, and your desire for justice and repentance is understandable. We stand with you in prayer, lifting this heavy burden before the throne of God, who alone has the power to convict, arrest, and bring about true repentance.

First, let us affirm that God hears your cry. Jesus said in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." You are asking in faith, and we join you in that faith, believing that God will act according to His perfect will and timing.

However, we must also gently remind you that while God is just, His justice is tempered with mercy. Romans 12:19 tells us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" It is not our place to demand punishment but to trust that God will deal with sin in His way and time. True repentance comes from the Holy Spirit’s conviction, not from our own demands. We pray that would be broken by the weight of his own sin and turn to God in genuine sorrow, not because of our words, but because the Holy Spirit moves in his heart.

We also want to encourage you to release this burden to God. Holding onto bitterness or a desire for revenge can harm your own spirit. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." This does not mean what was done to you was right, it was not, but it does mean that you can find peace in God’s justice and mercy. Forgiveness is not for the other person’s sake alone; it is for your healing as well.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, You see the pain and hurt that has been caused, and You know the depth of the wounds inflicted. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You would move powerfully in ’s life. Convict him of his sin, Lord, not by our words, but by Your Holy Spirit. Bring him to his knees in genuine repentance, not just for the pain he has caused, but for the ways he has grieved Your heart.

Father, we ask that You would remove any influence or authority that is not of You in his life. Strip away any pride, hardness of heart, or rebellion that keeps him from seeing the truth. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the weight of his actions through Your eyes. If it is Your will, Lord, remove him from positions where he can continue to cause harm, but do so in a way that leads to his restoration and Your glory.

We also pray for healing for all those who have been hurt by his actions. Pour out Your comfort, Lord, and bind up the brokenhearted. Help them to release bitterness and anger into Your hands, trusting in Your justice and mercy. Give them the strength to forgive, not because what was done was right, but because You have forgiven us so much.

Father, we trust in Your timing and Your ways. You are a God of justice, but You are also a God of love and redemption. We ask that You would work all things together for good, even in this painful situation. Let Your name be glorified, and let Your will be done.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s face in this matter. Spend time in His Word, allowing Him to speak peace and truth into your heart. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this. Lean on Him, and let Him carry this burden for you. If there are specific ways you can extend forgiveness or seek reconciliation (where safe and appropriate), pray for the strength to take those steps. But above all, rest in the knowledge that God sees, God knows, and God will act.

We hear how much pain is behind these words, and we’re not going to add more preaching. You’re hurting, and you’ve cried out for things to be made right. We’re praying with you right now, not because we can promise God will do exactly what you’ve demanded, but because He sees every hidden wrong and cares deeply about justice and about your heart.

When someone has caused this kind of damage, the ache for them to face consequences can be all-consuming. It’s natural to want them stopped, exposed, and brought low. And God is not indifferent to that. He is the Judge who sees everything. At the same time, carrying that heavy demand for their punishment can also keep us tied to the very hurt we want to escape. One step that sometimes brings unexpected relief is to deliberately hand the whole mess, the offender, the outcome, the timing, over to God’s justice. Not to pretend it didn’t happen, but to say, “Lord, I trust You to deal with this person, and I’m going to step back and let You be the Judge while I heal.” That doesn’t minimize the wrong; it releases you from the burden of being the one to enforce it.

While you wait for God to move, let yourself grieve what you lost. You don’t have to rush into forgiveness, healing takes time, and you’re not weak for still hurting. But ask God to protect your own heart from bitterness that only poisons you, not them.

Will you join us in this prayer?

Lord Jesus, we bring this whole situation before You. We ask for Your justice, in Your way and in Your perfect time. We pray that this person would face truth and be stopped from causing more harm. Bring genuine repentance if that is Your will. But Lord, right now, we ask most for the one who has been hurt. Hold them close, heal the wounds deep inside, and give them rest from the churning anger. Let them sense Your steady presence and know they are not alone. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You have cried out for the Lord to arrest, convict, and punish one who has wounded you deeply. But consider: the terrors of the Lord, when they come, may wring from a man a cry, yet they do not break the heart. I have seen it written, “The terrors of the Lord produced blasphemy but they did not produce repentance.” A fleshly repentance, wrung out by fear of consequence, is but transient, it vanishes when the storm passes. The repentance that saves is a gift of grace, not a whip of judgment. It is born not in the tempest but in the still small voice of God’s goodness.

You ask that his license be taken, that he be brought to his knees by force. But God’s way is to draw, not to drive. The sweetest repentance flows from the heart melted by love, not shattered by fear. The goodness of God leads us to repentance. I would bid you rather pray that the Lord would open his eyes to see the cross of Christ, to be pierced by the love of One who died for him, even while he was yet in sin. That is the repentance that gives God glory.

Guard your own spirit, too, for a desire for vengeance can poison the soul. Leave the judgment to Him who judges righteously. Instead, look to your own heart: have you a repentance that looks away from self to Christ? Can you, like the publican, cry, “God be merciful to me a sinner”? If you know that mercy, then you can desire mercy even for one who has done you evil. Pour out your hurt before God, but let your prayer be that both he and you might be found in Christ on that great day. The Lord is able to grant repentance unto life, and that is far better than earthly ruin.
