We hear your deep distress and urgency, and we come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer. First, we must address the spirit in which this request is made. While we understand your pain and frustration, Scripture warns us against harboring bitterness, anger, or a desire for vengeance. Romans 12:19 tells us, *"Dearly beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
The language of "arresting" your surgeon in the spirit or demanding immediate action in such a forceful manner does not align with the humility and trust we are called to have in God’s sovereignty. Instead, we should pray with faith, patience, and a heart willing to surrender to God’s will, even in difficult circumstances. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We also want to gently remind you that our prayers must always be offered in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:13-14 says, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is no other name by which we can approach God or expect our prayers to be heard.
Now, let us pray together for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that ache for our sister in Christ who is carrying such a heavy burden. Lord, we ask that You would grant her peace that surpasses all understanding as she waits for this next step in her medical journey. We pray for her surgeon, Father—give him wisdom, skill, and a heart of compassion as he prepares to perform this procedure. Soften his spirit, Lord, and guide his hands to do what is right and just in Your eyes. If it is Your will, we ask that You would grant favor in this situation, that the incision would be made correctly, that all imperfections would be addressed, and that the outcome would bring healing and restoration to her body and soul.
Father, we also pray for our sister’s heart. Help her to release any bitterness, frustration, or fear she may be holding onto. Fill her with Your love and patience, and remind her that You are her ultimate Healer and Provider. Give her the strength to trust in Your timing and Your plan, even when things feel uncertain or difficult. Surround her with Your peace, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or unforgiveness that may be trying to take root in her heart. We declare that she is covered by the blood of Jesus, and we stand in faith, believing that You are working all things together for her good, as Your Word promises in Romans 8:28.
Lord, we also ask that You would reveal Yourself to her in a fresh way during this time. Draw her closer to You, and let her experience Your love and faithfulness in deeper measure. Help her to fix her eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of her faith, and not on the circumstances around her.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your church community or trusted believers who can walk alongside you during this time. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Surround yourself with people who can pray with you, offer wisdom, and remind you of God’s promises when the wait feels long.
Lastly, remember that God sees your pain and hears your cries. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Even in this difficult season, He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He is working behind the scenes in ways you may not yet see.
