We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea to our Heavenly Father. We recognize the depth of the struggle being described—one that touches the very core of the soul, where sin, spiritual bondage, and human weakness collide. We stand in agreement with this cry for deliverance, knowing that our God is mighty to save, faithful to cleanse, and powerful to break every chain. But we must also approach this with discernment, for the Word of God teaches us that true freedom comes not only through deliverance but through repentance, surrender, and a life transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

First, we must address the foundation of this prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If the one for whom we are praying does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we must first pray for their salvation. For without Christ, there is no true deliverance, no lasting victory over sin, and no eternal hope. If they have not confessed Jesus as Lord, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their heart, draw them to repentance, and grant them the gift of faith to believe in Him. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Now, we turn to the specific areas of bondage mentioned in this prayer. The list is long—anger, harshness, childishness, demonic influences, aggression, evil spirits, lust, perversion, pornography, sexual sin, hardness of heart, selfishness, unbelief, controlling and manipulating spirits, unfaithfulness, and more. These are not merely bad habits or personality flaws; they are strongholds of the enemy, sins that grieve the Holy Spirit, and behaviors that destroy lives and relationships. The Word of God is clear: "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

We rebuke every evil spirit that has taken hold in this life. We command them, in the name of Jesus Christ, to loose their grip and flee. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). But we must also recognize that deliverance is not a one-time event; it is a process that requires active participation. The one for whom we pray must renounce these sins, turn away from them, and walk in obedience to God’s Word. Deliverance without repentance is temporary at best. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

We address the sexual sins mentioned—lust, perversion, pornography, and sexual immorality—with particular urgency. These sins defile the temple of the Holy Spirit and lead to spiritual death. The Bible warns, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If this person is engaged in sexual sin, whether through pornography, fornication, or any other form of immorality, they must repent and turn away from it immediately. There is no place for compromise in this area. We pray that God would break the power of addiction, cleanse their mind, and restore purity to their heart.

We also notice the mention of false gods, idols, rituals, and beliefs. The first and greatest commandment is clear: "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3). Any allegiance to false gods, whether through occult practices, New Age beliefs, or even the idolatry of self, must be renounced. We command every idol to be smashed, every false belief to be uprooted, and every ungodly influence to be cast out in the name of Jesus. "Little children, keep yourselves from idols" (1 John 5:21).

The prayer also mentions excessive use of mobile phones and social media. While these may seem like minor issues, they can become tools of the enemy to distract, isolate, and feed sinful desires. The Bible warns, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything" (1 Corinthians 6:12). We pray that God would help this person to use technology wisely, to guard their heart, and to redeem the time for His glory.

We must also address the spirit of narcissism mentioned in this prayer. Narcissism is a form of pride, and pride is the root of all sin. It leads to selfishness, manipulation, and a lack of love for others. The Bible says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). We pray that God would humble this heart, break the spirit of self-centeredness, and replace it with a spirit of servanthood and love. "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility of mind, each counting others better than himself" (Philippians 2:3).

Now, we lift our voices in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this soul. We thank You that You are a God who hears, a God who delivers, and a God who saves. We ask that You would move mightily in this life. Lord, if they do not know You as Savior, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Break their heart over sin, convict them of their need for a Savior, and grant them the gift of faith to believe in Jesus Christ.

In the name of Jesus, we command every evil spirit—anger, lust, perversion, control, manipulation, unbelief, and every other spirit mentioned—to loose their grip and flee. We declare that this person is not their own; they were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). We pray that You would arrest their heart, spirit, and every part of their being. Bring them to genuine, sincere repentance for every sin. Let there be no more excuses, no more compromise, no more delay. May they turn to You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Father, we ask that You would fill every void with Your Holy Spirit. Where there has been anger, let there be peace. Where there has been lust, let there be purity. Where there has been pride, let there be humility. Where there has been unbelief, let there be faith. Where there has been bondage, let there be freedom. We pray that You would have Your way in every area of their life—mind, body, soul, and spirit.

Lord, we ask that You would break every chain, destroy every stronghold, and uproot every lie of the enemy. Replace the lies with Your truth. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). We pray that they would meditate on Your Word day and night, that they would hide it in their heart so that they might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11).

Father, we ask that You would restore what has been broken. Heal their heart, renew their mind, and refresh their spirit. Surround them with godly influences—believers who will encourage them, pray for them, and hold them accountable. Help them to flee from temptation and to resist the devil. Give them the strength to walk in obedience to Your Word.

We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We declare that they are a new creation in Christ; the old has passed away, and behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Lord, we ask that You would give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness. May they seek You above all else, and may they find their satisfaction in You alone. We pray that You would use them for Your glory, that they would be a light in this dark world, and that they would make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in this life (Philippians 1:6). We pray all of this in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

To the one reading this: If you are the one struggling with these things, know that God loves you. He is not angry with you; He is waiting for you with open arms. But you must turn to Him. Repentance is not just feeling sorry for your sins; it is turning away from them and walking in a new direction. Confess your sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, and receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Then, find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be discipled, and find accountability. The road to freedom is not easy, but it is worth it. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is calling you today. Will you answer?

Dear friend, we join you in crying out to our Heavenly Father on your behalf. We are moved by the depth of your plea and we stand with you in agreement, believing that our God is mighty to save, faithful to cleanse, and powerful to break every chain.

We echo the sentiments of our brother who prayed before us, acknowledging the need for discernment and the importance of repentance, surrender, and a life transformed by the Holy Spirit. But we also want to emphasize the power of God's unfailing love and grace. In Jesus, there is hope, healing, and a brand new start.

We pray that the Lord would meet you right where you are, with open arms, ready to forgive, heal, and restore. We ask that He would fill you with His Holy Spirit, giving you the strength to resist sin, the courage to walk in obedience, and the faith to trust in His unfailing love.

We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. We declare that you are a new creation in Christ, the old has passed away, and behold, all things have become new.

We pray this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
