We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and truth, lifting this urgent request in prayer while also addressing what must be said with love and clarity. First, we praise God that you have invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB) and *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). We are grateful you have called upon His name, and we encourage you to always approach the throne of grace through Jesus alone, for He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Now, we must address the nature of this relationship with both truth and grace. The intensity of your request reveals a deep longing for emotional and physical closeness, but we are compelled to ask: **Are you and this man married in the sight of God?** Your prayer refers to him as your husband, yet if you are not legally and biblically married—meaning a covenant between one man and one woman before God—then what you are describing is not a marriage but a relationship that risks falling into fornication or emotional idolatry. Scripture is clear: *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). If you are not married, then the physical affection, passion, and exclusivity you are praying for are reserved for marriage alone. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB).

If you are indeed married, then we rejoice and pray for the strengthening of your covenant. But if not, we must lovingly yet firmly rebuke the direction of this prayer. A relationship built on passionate desire outside of marriage is dangerous and dishonoring to God. The Lord designed intimacy to be enjoyed within the sacred bounds of marriage, and anything outside of that is sin. *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB). If this relationship is not a marriage, then you must repent and turn away from any physical or emotional intimacy that belongs only to a husband and wife. Instead, if you are courting with the intent of marriage, pray for purity, patience, and wisdom. *"But if they don’t have self-control, let them marry. For it’s better to marry than to burn with passion"* (1 Corinthians 7:9, WEB).

Additionally, we notice the repeated emphasis on exclusivity—*"me only," "no other women ever."*—which reveals a heart of possessiveness rather than godly love. Love, as defined by Scripture, is not self-seeking but patient, kind, and rooted in Christ. *"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, WEB). A relationship centered on Christ will not be marked by desperate pleas for another’s affection but by a mutual pursuit of holiness and submission to God’s will.

If this man is not your husband, we urge you to step back and seek the Lord’s will for your life. Pray for a **godly spouse**, not just a passionate relationship. Pray that if this man is not the one God has for you, that the Lord would make it clear and give you the strength to walk away. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If he is not a believer, or if he is not committed to pursuing Christ above all else, then this relationship is not one that will honor God.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting this sister and her heart’s desires to You. Lord, we ask that You reveal the truth of this relationship to her. If she is not married to this man, convict her heart of any sin and lead her to repentance. Father, guard her from the enemy’s lies that would tell her passion and exclusivity are more important than holiness. Remind her that her body is Your temple and that true love waits on Your timing and Your design.

If this relationship is not of You, Lord, give her the strength to let go. Break any ungodly soul ties and heal her heart from any attachment that is not Your will. If this man is not her husband, close the door firmly and redirect her steps toward a godly man who will cherish her as Christ cherishes the church. *"A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whoever she desires, only in the Lord"* (1 Corinthians 7:39, WEB). Father, if marriage is Your plan for her, prepare her now to be a wife who honors You, and prepare a husband who will lead her spiritually.

If she is married, then we pray for the restoration and strengthening of this covenant. Soften both hearts to one another and to You. Remove any bitterness, selfishness, or idolatry, and replace it with Your love. Teach them to love as You love—sacrificially, patiently, and purely. Protect their marriage from the enemy’s attacks and let their union be a testimony of Your grace.

Above all, Lord, draw this sister closer to **You**. Let her find her satisfaction in Christ alone, not in the affection of a man. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). May she seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add all things to her as she walks in obedience.

We rebuke any spirit of lust, control, or idolatry in this situation. We bind the enemy’s lies that would distort love into obsession or passion into sin. Holy Spirit, fill her with Your fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let her relationships reflect Your glory, not her desires.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting your marriage before the Lord in these past days. Our hearts have been joined with yours in earnest prayer, crying out for the depth of intimacy, unity, and passion you so deeply desire in your relationship. We’ve petitioned the Father to bind your hearts together in a way that only He can, to remove every distraction, and to fill your husband with a love for you that reflects Christ’s love for the church—exclusive, sacrificial, and overflowing with affection.

We know how tenderly the Lord hears the cries of His daughters, especially when they seek Him for the restoration and flourishing of their marriages. If you’ve seen even the smallest glimmer of breakthrough—whether in a softened heart, a moment of connection, or a renewed sense of hope—we’d love for you to share it with us as a praise report. Your testimony could be the very encouragement another sister in Christ needs to keep praying in faith.

If the weight of this burden still feels heavy, if the longing for closeness and affirmation remains unfulfilled, please don’t hesitate to bring this request before us again. We are here to stand with you in persistent, believing prayer, trusting that our God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. He is the Author of love, the Restorer of relationships, and the Keeper of covenants. Let’s continue to contend together for the marriage He has ordained, knowing that His timing is perfect and His ways are higher than ours.

May you feel His presence wrapping around you like a comforting embrace as you seek Him. May He fill you with His peace, which transcends all understanding, and may He remind you daily of your worth in His eyes. You are seen. You are loved. And your marriage is not forgotten by Him.

We remain steadfast with you in prayer.
