You have invoked the name of Jesus in this request, and we praise God for that, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. It is by this name alone that we approach the Father, and it is in this name that we stand with you in prayer.
Your husband’s salvation is the most critical need here, for without Christ, all other blessings are temporary. We plead with the Lord to break through the darkness that may be blinding his heart, just as the apostle Paul prayed for the salvation of his kinsmen: *"Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved"* (Romans 10:1, WEB). We ask the Lord to grant your husband a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ—one that shatters every lie, every stronghold, and every false belief that has kept him bound. May the Holy Spirit convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and may he turn to Christ in genuine repentance, surrendering his life entirely to Him. Like the apostle Paul, who was dramatically transformed on the road to Damascus (Acts 9), we pray your husband will have a radical encounter with the living God that leaves him forever changed.
You have also spoken of the influence of Islamic beliefs and idols in your husband’s life. We stand firmly on the truth that there is only one God, and He has revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ. *"Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel,... ‘I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God'* (Isaiah 44:6, WEB). Any belief system or idol that contradicts this truth is a lie from the enemy, and we command those lies to be exposed and destroyed in Jesus’ name. We pray that the Lord will open your husband’s eyes to see that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). May every false teaching, every chain of deception, and every spiritual stronghold be broken by the power of the blood of Jesus.
We also address the soul ties you mentioned between your husband and his former wife. Soul ties formed outside of God’s design—especially through intimate relationships—can create ungodly bonds that hinder a person’s ability to fully commit to their current spouse. Scripture warns us, *"Don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, ‘The two,’ says he, ‘will become one flesh’"* (1 Corinthians 6:16, WEB). While this verse speaks of immorality, the principle applies to any ungodly soul tie that remains unbroken. We pray that the Lord would sever every ungodly connection between your husband and his ex-wife, or any other person, in Jesus’ name. May his heart, mind, and emotions be completely untangled from the past and fully devoted to you, his wife, as God intended. *"Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh"* (Genesis 2:24, WEB). This is God’s design for marriage, and we pray it will be fully realized in your union.
Your desire for unity, love, and deep connection in your marriage is godly, and we lift it up before the Lord. A marriage that honors God is built on love, mutual submission, and selflessness. *"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it"* (Ephesians 5:22-25, WEB). We pray that the Lord will soften both of your hearts toward one another, that He will remove any bitterness, resentment, or selfishness, and replace it with His love. May your husband lead with the sacrificial love of Christ, and may you both grow in unity, *"being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, making the body increase to the building up of itself in love"* (Ephesians 4:16, WEB).
We also pray for the restoration of intimacy in your marriage—emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Intimacy in marriage is a gift from God, but it must be guarded and nurtured within His boundaries. *"Let the husband render to his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Don’t deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn’t tempt you because of your lack of self-control"* (1 Corinthians 7:3-5, WEB). We pray that the Lord will heal any brokenness in this area, that He will remove any barriers to affection and closeness, and that He will bless your marriage bed as undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). We also rebuke any spirit of lust, pornography, or perversion that may have influenced your husband or your marriage, and we command it to be broken and cast out in Jesus’ name.
Finally, we cover your marriage in the blood of Jesus, praying for protection against every scheme of the enemy. *"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:11-12, WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against your marriage will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask the Lord to surround you both with His hedge of protection. Lord, You are the God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, beginning with the salvation of this man’s soul. Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself to him in a way he cannot deny. Break through every stronghold, every lie, and every deception that has kept him from surrendering to You. Let him encounter You in dreams, in visions, and in his waking moments, so that he may turn to You in genuine repentance and faith. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and make him a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We pray against every false belief, every Islamic teaching, and every idol that has taken root in his heart. Lord, You alone are God, and we declare that every knee must bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). Break the chains of deception, Lord, and set him free to worship You in spirit and in truth. Destroy the works of the enemy in his life—every spirit of fear, anger, lust, selfishness, and control. Replace them with Your love, Your peace, and Your righteousness.
Father, we ask that You sever every ungodly soul tie between this man and his former wife, or any other person. Let him be completely free to love and cherish his wife as You intended. Restore the unity, the trust, and the deep affection between them. Soften his heart toward her, Lord, and soften her heart toward him. Heal every wound, every hurt, and every broken place in their relationship. Let their marriage be a reflection of Your love for Your church—sacrificial, faithful, and full of grace.
We pray for a renewed passion and desire between them, Lord, that they would delight in one another and find joy in their union. Protect their marriage from the enemy’s attacks, and let nothing separate what You have joined together. Bless them with open communication, deep friendship, and a bond that grows stronger with each passing day. May they be companions, soulmates, and partners in every sense, walking together in faith and love.
