We have heard your very urgent cry and we join together with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, bringing your whole heart and your concerns about your face, skin and eyes to the Lord who loves you and sees you intimately.

We understand how deeply distressing it can be to feel unhappy with your appearance, to carry marks and scars and traces of surgery, and to long for healing and restoration. We want to pray for your healing and also to gently encourage you with what Scripture teaches about our bodies and our worth in God's eyes. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14, and the Lord does not look as man looks, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart, 1 Samuel 16:7. Your value to God is not measured by flawless skin or any outward standard, but by being His beloved creation, redeemed through Christ. Scripture also reminds us that beauty should not be merely outward, but the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God, 1 Peter 3:3-4.

We also want to lovingly address the way we come to God in prayer. You quoted that if we ask we will receive, and it is true that Jesus said Ask, and it will be given you, Matthew 7:7, and we are invited to make our requests known to God, Philippians 4:6-7. Yet Scripture also teaches us to ask according to His will, 1 John 5:14, and that we do not command God or demand that He act instantly without delay according to our exact words. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, James 4:3. God is sovereign, loving and wise, and He answers prayer for our good and His glory, working all things together for good for those who love Him, Romans 8:28. He is not a formula to produce miracles on demand, but a Father who hears and answers in His perfect timing and way, sometimes with physical healing, sometimes with strength, peace and contentment as we trust Him. We also encourage you to seek His kingdom first, Matthew 6:33, trusting that as you seek Him, He will care for all your needs, including the anxieties of your heart about your appearance.

We do care about your physical concerns and we do believe God is able to heal, and we will bring them to Him, while also praying for your peace and for freedom from obsessive worry and the burden of feeling you must achieve a perfect standard like glass skin to be worthy or at ease.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we have access to You only through Him. We lift up this dear one to You. You know every detail of her face, skin and eyes, every scar, mark, line, spot, dryness and weariness, every concern that weighs so heavily on her heart. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch according to Your perfect will. If it is Your will, we ask You to bring restoration and health to her skin and eyes, to ease irritation and dryness, to bring comfort and wholeness. Above all, we ask You to touch her whole being with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7, and to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help her to see herself as You see her, fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved, and to know that her body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, to be stewarded with care and not with harshness or despair. Deliver her from anxiety and the pressure to demand perfection immediately, and teach her to rest in Your grace and timing. Give her wisdom to care for her body in healthy ways, to seek wise counsel when needed, and to trust You day by day. Make her inner life more and more radiant with Your presence, that she may know true beauty and joy that does not fade. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your requests to God honestly but also with surrender, saying as Jesus did, not my will, but Yours be done, Luke 22:42. Rest in His love, care for your body with gentleness, get proper rest, nourishment and wise medical guidance if needed, and fix your hope not on a flawless outward appearance but on the unfailing love of Christ who makes you new from the inside out. We are praying that you will feel His nearness, His comfort and His perfect peace as you trust Him.

We hear how heavy and urgent this feels for you, and how much you long to look in the mirror and feel at peace with what you see. Wanting your face and skin to feel fresh, smooth, and rested is an understandable desire, and we are joining you in prayer for that burden you are carrying.

Sometimes when we focus so intently on every mark or detail we wish were different, it can shape not only how we see our appearance but how we feel about ourselves as a whole. Our sense of worth is not built by trying harder to feel good about how we look, but grows more steadily as we remember who we are before God and as we live out the good He has for us day by day. That does not make the distress about appearance any less real, but it can help loosen its grip a little.

If these concerns about your skin and eyes have been weighing on you, it may help to share them with a trusted medical professional, like your primary doctor or a dermatologist, alongside prayer, so you have support for both your physical concerns and your peace of mind. It can also help to talk with a trusted pastor or counselor if thoughts about appearance are becoming overwhelming.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see the urgency in their heart and the longing for healing and restoration. We ask for Your comfort, for wisdom for any helpers they see, and for a deeper sense of being valued and loved by You. Bring peace to their mind and rest to their heart as they look to You. Your earnest and urgent cries have been brought before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard the deep distress that weighs upon you concerning your face and skin and eyes. We have prayed for you, and we continue to pray that the Lord in His mercy would grant you comfort and healing according to His perfect wisdom and love.

You have asked with great intensity, quoting the promise, ask and you shall receive. That promise is true, for Him that comes to Christ He will in no wise cast out. Yet our Lord teaches us also how to ask, not only for the body but for the soul. Many persons think a great deal about the adorning of the body, but do not think anything about the ornaments of the soul. The feeding of the physical frame engrosses much care, but the supply of spiritual food is often neglected. Yet, O man, you yourself are better than your body. Your soul, made in the image of God, is of more value than the skin which clothes it, and Christ came first to heal the broken heart.

Man is a double being, composed of body and soul, and each may receive injury and hurt. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and urge us to seek a physician. But the Lord shows us a greater healing. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

We read also that sin has defaced the image of God, but the grace of God will renew it. By our transgression we have lost much, but Christ will bring back everything through His blood and righteousness. Today the body is dead because of sin, though the spirit is life because of righteousness. The regeneration of the body takes place at the resurrection, when we shall rise again in the image of the Lord Jesus. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. Until that day, the Lord in His providence often permits marks and infirmities to remain, not because He cannot heal, but to teach us to seek the healing of the soul first, and to trust His timing for the body.

We have also learned that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To be constantly troubled about these marks and blemishes, to look with distress upon every spot and hollow and line, will only deepen your sorrow. Cast this burden upon the Lord. He who sees the sparrow fall and numbers the hairs of your head knows your frame and pities your weakness.

Therefore we pray for you in this way. O Lord, our heavenly Physician, look upon this anxious soul. Forgive sin, heal the broken heart, and clothe this life with the ornaments of grace, with meekness and faith and peace. If it be Thy will, lay Thy pardoning and healing hand upon the body also, upon the eyes that are tired and dry and watery, upon the skin that causes such distress. Give relief from pain and irritation, give wisdom to care for the body with temperance and patience, and if Thou art pleased to use means, guide to wise and gentle help. Above all, take away the tormenting anxiety, and let this dear one know that they are precious in Thy sight, not for outward appearance but as one redeemed by the blood of Christ. Keep them from despair, and let them rest in Thy love, till Thou shalt make all things new.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord in His Word and in prayer, to speak also with a trusted pastor and, where there is bodily need, with a physician who can give careful counsel. Do not trust in tape or in any hasty remedy alone, but trust in the Lord who heals both soul and body in His own time.

May the Lord give you to know that you are heard, that you are loved, and that His grace is sufficient for you. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and He will not forsake those who wait upon Him.
