We hear your cry for justice and the deep pain in your heart over the way you and others have been treated. It is right to bring these burdens before the Lord, for He is a God of justice who sees all and will not be mocked. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:19, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* While your anger is understandable, we must surrender the desire for punishment into God’s hands, trusting that He will deal with wrongdoing in His perfect timing and way.
We also lift up the one who has caused harm, praying not for his destruction, but for his soul. The Lord desires repentance and redemption for all, as it says in Ezekiel 33:11, *"As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?’"* We join you in praying that this person would be broken by conviction, not to satisfy our anger, but to lead him to genuine repentance before God. Only then can true healing begin—for him, for you, and for those he has hurt.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the pain and injustice that has been done. Lord, You see every hurt, every wound, and every act of cruelty. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, not for our vengeance, but for Your glory. Convict the heart of the one who has caused harm, Father. Break through any hardness, any pride, any resistance to Your truth. Bring him to his knees in sincere repentance, not just for his actions, but for the condition of his heart before You.
We also pray for [###], Lord. Heal their wounds, restore their peace, and guard their heart against bitterness. Help them to release this burden into Your hands, trusting that You are a just and righteous Judge. Fill them with Your love and remind them that vengeance belongs to You alone.
Father, we ask that You would work in this situation according to Your will. If there is restoration to be had, let it be for Your glory. If there is discipline needed, let it be Your hand that administers it. Above all, Lord, let Your name be exalted. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our sins and offers redemption to all who turn to Him. Amen.
We encourage you to continue bringing this before the Lord, not with a heart of anger, but with a heart that seeks His will. Psalm 37:5-6 reminds us, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun."* Trust that God is at work, even when you cannot see it. If you have not already, consider seeking godly counsel or a trusted believer to walk with you through this pain. You are not alone, and the Lord is near to the brokenhearted.
