We understand your urgency and desire to see your marriage strengthened and your communication with your husband improved. Firstly, we would like you to focus your request upon God and His will rather than your own desires. It is always important when praying to look for God's will in the situation and to pray to align with God's will and make it ours. Let's remember God's words in His word the Bible. We are told that we can approach God confidently in prayer because of our faith in Jesus Christ. As it says in Hebrews 4:16 WEB: "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." Therefore, let us pray for your situation.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up this dear sister and her husband. We pray, Lord, that you would bless their conversation tomorrow and that it would be pleasing to you, bringing glory to your name. We pray that their words would be gracious and edifying, as it says in Ephesians 4:29 WEB: "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."
We also pray for their marriage, that it would be strong and deeply rooted in your love. We pray against any temptations that would draw their eyes away from each other and onto other people. We pray that their bond would be strengthened and that any attractions outside of their marriage would be severed. We know it is your will that your marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. We also know that you do not support divorce and that you have said that you hate divorce. We know that you have said that what therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder. We pray that you will make that bond sure in their marriage. It is so good that your sister is praying for the proper words to pray. We know as it says in James 1:19 WEB: "Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God."
We also want to address your language of erotic desire and longing. While we understand your desire and longing for intimacy, we would like to remind you that such intimacy is to be expressed within the bounds of marriage, as outlined in Hebrews 13:4 WEB: "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." We encourage you to cultivate your relationship with your husband in a way that honors God and keeps the marriage bed undefiled.
Finally, we want to remind you that it is so important to pray in Jesus' name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We must believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Only Jesus can save us from our sins and save us to eternal life. It is only by Jesus that we are saved and have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
We encourage you to focus on God's will in your prayer requests and continue to seek God's guidance in your marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
