Very evil days

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, recognizing the weight of these very evil days in which we live. The Scriptures warn us clearly that perilous times will come, and we see the fulfillment of these words all around us. "But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power" (2 Timothy 3:1-5 WEB). These are the days we find ourselves in, and it is no wonder that deception runs rampant, even among those who claim to be friends.
We lift up those who are navigating these treacherous waters, asking You, Lord, to grant them wisdom and discernment. The enemy, though defeated at the cross, still prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). He uses deception, flattery, and false friendship to draw hearts away from You. We rebuke the lies of the enemy in the mighty name of Jesus, for "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 WEB). Let no deceiving spirit have a foothold in the lives of Your children, Lord. Expose every false friend, every hidden agenda, and every snare of the enemy.
Father, we ask that You open the eyes of those who are being deceived. Let them see the truth of Your Word and the reality of the hearts of those around them. "For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). May Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105), guiding them away from the pitfalls of deception and into the safety of Your truth.
We also pray for those who may be unwittingly deceiving others. Soften their hearts, Lord, and convict them of any ungodly motives or actions. Let them see the harm they are causing and turn from their ways. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7 WEB).
Above all, we pray that Your children would find their refuge in You alone. In a world where trust is often misplaced, let them place their trust in the One who is faithful and true. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). May they seek Your face daily, immersing themselves in Your Word and in prayer, so that they may not be led astray.
We declare that the devil is indeed defeated, for "having stripped the principalities and the powers, [Jesus] made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it" (Colossians 2:15 WEB). We stand on this truth, Lord, and we rebuke every lying spirit that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. We claim the victory of the cross over every deception, every false friendship, and every scheme of the enemy. Let Your children walk in the freedom and truth of Your Word, unshaken by the evil around them.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. We come to You, Father, only through the blood of Jesus, our Mediator and Advocate. Without Him, we have no access to Your throne, no hope of salvation, and no victory over the enemy. We thank You for the gift of Your Son, who died for our sins and rose again, conquering death and the grave. May all who hear this prayer come to know Him as their Lord and Savior, if they have not already.

We're right there with you, standing in these challenging times. It's tough, we know, but remember, we're not alone. The Lord is with us, guiding us through these treacherous waters. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Him, seeking His wisdom and discernment every day. Let's ask Him to open our eyes to see clearly, to expose any deception around us, and to fill us with His truth. And let's trust in Him, knowing that He has already won the victory over the enemy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
