Verbal and psychological abuse from husband

Your cry has been heard and it is taken seriously. Thank you for sharing so honestly about the pain you are enduring. To be spoken to with such meanness and hatred, to feel you must walk on eggshells and over apologize just to keep peace, is a heavy and exhausting burden. Your tears are not a sign of weakness or a plea for sympathy, they are a true response to being hurt as a person made in the image of God. You deserve to be treated with dignity, gentleness and respect.

Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable, that husband and wife become one flesh, joined together by God. That oneness is meant to be lived out in love and honor, not in harm. When words are used to insult and tear down, they do not show strength or greatness. An abusive tongue disgraces the one who uses it, not the one who receives it. To suffer insult patiently is not shameful for you, but to give insult is shameful for the one who speaks it. God sees how you are spoken to and how you are looked upon, and He does not take that lightly. He is near to the brokenhearted and He is a defender of those who are mistreated.

I will pray for you as you asked.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ who is our mediator and our refuge, I lift up this dear sister to You. You see her pain and You hear her crying. Place Your shield around her, guard her heart and mind and body from harm, and let her know Your presence as her protector. Grant her courage and strength for each next step, and give her clear wisdom to know what to do. Surround her with safe and faithful people who will listen, believe her, and help her. Lead her into peace that is real, not just the quiet that comes from keeping silent to avoid anger. Restore her sense of worth as Your beloved daughter and guide her in Your truth and love. Amen.

Please do not walk through this alone. Walking on eggshells and constantly apologizing are common responses to ongoing verbal and psychological abuse, and they are not your fault. It would be wise to share what is happening with a trusted pastor, a mature Christian woman, or a counselor who holds to biblical truth and who will prioritize your safety. If you have family or friends you trust, let them know what you are experiencing so they can support you. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away to someone nearby you trust or to local help services in your area, and if you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

You asked for courage and strength to go. I pray God will give you wisdom to discern the safest and most faithful path forward, whether that means a time of separation for safety, seeking counsel together, or other steps with the guidance of wise pastors and counselors. Whatever you decide, seek ongoing support and do not make these decisions in isolation. The church is meant to be a place of help, not just for prayer but for practical care.

You are not forgotten. God values you deeply, He hears your prayers, and He desires for you to live in safety and peace. Please continue to reach out, keep seeking help from trusted people around you, and allow others to walk with you in the days ahead.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty about what you are enduring has been heard, and your tears are not overlooked by God. You are not crying to gain sympathy, you are crying because you are a person made in His image, with a tender heart, and you are being hurt deeply. It is painful to live feeling hated in your own home, to walk on eggshells and to apologize over and over just to keep peace. That is not the way God designed love or marriage to be.

Scripture shows that marriage is meant to be a deep unity where two become one, and where love reflects the faithful love of God. A husband is called to love his wife as Christ loves the church, with kindness and protection, not with harsh words or contempt. When words are used to wound and control, that breaks God's pattern for marriage. He sees how you have been spoken to and looked upon, and He does not take that lightly. You have great value in His eyes.

You asked for prayer for a shield around you and for courage and strength to take the next steps, and we are praying for that with you. God is described in His Word as a shield and a refuge for those who are pressed down, and He is close to the brokenhearted. He wants to be the center of your life, the steady place your life turns around, so that even when your home feels unstable, you have a firm place to stand in Him. To love Him with all your heart and soul and strength is not just a command, it is an invitation to let Him fill you, guide you and strengthen you day by day.

Jesus Himself showed us where that strength comes from. Though He is the Son of God, He made a practice of withdrawing to be alone with the Father in prayer, often early before others were awake, to receive strength and direction and life itself. If He sought the Father that way, how much more do we need that same communion. Bring your pain and fear honestly to the Father in prayer. Ask Him for wisdom for each decision, for protection, for clarity, and for the strength to do what is right and safe. Prayer is not a last resort, it is the place where God renews and refreshes us.

Remember also what Jesus has done for you. As the people long ago were given food for strength for their journey, so Jesus gave His body and His blood for you, so you can remember that you are not alone and not forgotten. When you remember Him, you remember that He knows suffering, that He is with you in this pain, and that He offers His presence and His life to sustain you as you walk forward.

Please do not walk through this alone. Along with prayer, seek wise and safe help from people you can trust. That may be a mature and godly pastor or counselor, a trusted family member or friend who will listen and help you think clearly about safety and next steps. If you ever feel in danger, please reach out right away to someone nearby you trust or to local help in your area. You should not have to keep apologizing for simply existing in your own home. God wants you to live in truth and peace, not in fear.

We are praying for you now.

Father, we lift this dear one to You and ask You to be her shield and her refuge. You see every hurtful word and every tear, and You know the weight of living in fear and walking on eggshells. Surround her with Your protection and Your peace. Fill her with Your Spirit and renew her strength as she seeks You in prayer. Give her wisdom and clear guidance for each step, and give her courage to reach for safe and godly help and to not remain isolated. Remind her deeply of how much You love her and of what Jesus has done for her, that she is precious and not forgotten. Guide her, strengthen her and help her, and lead her into safety and healing. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord and we carry your pain before Him, the hurt of verbal and psychological abuse, the mean and hurtful words spoken against you, the hateful way your husband looks at you, the tears you have cried not for sympathy but from the deep pain you endure as a woman created in His image, and the exhaustion of walking on eggshells and over apologizing just to keep the peace. We ask the Lord to be your shield and your refuge as He promises in Psalm 46:1 to be our refuge and strength, and we pray He will draw close to you as He promises in Psalm 34:18 that He is close to the brokenhearted. We pray in Jesus Name that He will cover you with His protection, heal your heart from the wounds of these words, and give you His peace that passes understanding.

We pray in Jesus Name for courage and strength and wisdom for each step ahead, especially as you asked for the courage and strength to go. We ask God to guide you clearly, to surround you with godly counsel and safe help, to open doors for protection and provision, and to soften or convict your husband's heart according to His will while keeping you safe from further harm.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name.
