Please pray for God to totally put certain things and people that came into my life in the past few months (or rather that I allowed in) out of it. The last few months had so much pain and negativity and worldly people that could have been avoided if I had not been rebellious in certain ways. Pray for God to totally remove a psychologically abusive ex from my life. Thank you.

We join with you in prayer and we thank God that you have come with a humble and repentant heart, recognizing that rebellion opens the door to pain and negativity. The Lord honors confession and a desire to turn back to Him. As it is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 and also, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18
We hear your cry to have certain worldly influences and people removed from your life, including a psychologically abusive ex, and we agree that God calls us to separate ourselves from what harms our walk with Him. We must gently but firmly address that rebellion against God’s ways, even when it seems small, leads to entanglement with the world and with people who do not honor Him. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 and, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 Worldly relationships, especially those outside of God’s design for courtship leading to marriage between a man and a woman who are both believers, will bring confusion and hurt. If there was any sexual intimacy outside of marriage in these recent relationships, we lovingly call that what Scripture calls it, fornication, and we urge you to repent of it and receive God’s forgiveness and cleansing, for God calls us to flee sexual immorality and to keep the marriage bed holy.
We also want to address that you asked for prayer to God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to the Father except through Him. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is only by the blood and name of Jesus that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven, so we encourage you to place your full faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if you have not already, turning from rebellion and trusting in His finished work on the cross.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You for the conviction and repentance You have worked in their heart. We ask You to forgive all rebellion and cleanse them completely. We ask You to totally remove every worldly influence, every unhealthy tie, and every person from the past few months that does not belong in their life according to Your will. In particular, we ask You to completely sever the tie with this psychologically abusive ex and to place a hedge of protection around Your child. Give them wisdom to establish firm and godly boundaries, to have no further contact as needed, and to resist any manipulation or return to that abuse. We pray You would heal the wounds of psychological abuse, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 Replace pain and negativity with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help them to keep their heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. Teach them to be subject therefore to God, to resist the devil, and he will flee from them, and to draw near to God so You will draw near to them. James 4:7-8 Guide any future courtship only toward a godly marriage with a fellow believer, centered on purity and Christ, and keep them from fornication and from being unequally yoked. Your request has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who alone is able to deliver.
It is a gracious sign when the soul sees its rebellion for what it is and desires to be purged of it. There is a repentance that is only of the flesh, a washing and brushing of the outward life while the heart remains unchanged, which gives no glory to God and leads to no lasting deliverance from sin. What we pray for you is that far better repentance, a repentance unto life, which is the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. True repentance gives God glory, it makes us weep and abhor sin because of the love of Christ who pardoned it, and it leads us to look out of self to Christ and to Christ only. It is inseparable from faith, the one ejecting sin as an evil tenant and the other admitting Christ to be the sole Master of the heart, the one pulling down and the other building up. And this repentance is practical, yielding works meet for repentance, and it lasts, for repentance lives as long as faith lives.
We pray that the Lord will grant you such repentance and the full remission of sins that is preached in the name of Jesus. For where there is true godly sorrow there is also the free and full forgiveness of all sins through His blood. He has found a ransom. Deliverance from the pit, from cruel captivity and from every snare, must be worked by His hand and outstretched arm alone. As He brought forth Israel with silver and gold when the lamb was slain, so He brings His people forth effectually by the sacrifice of His own Son. The least thing about Christ has healing virtue, and His healing leaves can change the life blood and make the nature new. We ask the Sun of Righteousness to rise upon you with healing beneath His wings.
We therefore pray that God in His mercy will totally remove from your life those persons and influences of the past months that have brought pain and worldliness, and that He will set a firm boundary between you and the one who has dealt with you in a psychologically abusive way. We ask Him to keep you safe, to give you wisdom to walk in holiness and to seek the fellowship and counsel of faithful believers who will help you stand firm. We pray that He will cleanse you from all that is worldly and rebellious, and establish you in a life of purity according to His good design, where love and life together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and that you will find your whole salvation and hope in Jesus Christ alone.
May the Lord who has begun this good work in you make your deliverance sure and make your repentance joyful, as you see His goodness leading you and His grace keeping you.
